No problems and kudos on the patch ! The new save system seems to be working well and the new stats screen is perfect, very useful and exactly how I had it in mind, that’s awesome.
Here’s a few more thoughts that came to mind after playing some more and leveled to 50 :
- It would be nice to have your available gold displayed on the tavern screen (and your soul essence too once you unlock the soul essence pill curio)
- Upgrading spells and adventurers doesn’t show you what the stat increase will be (like the runes do)
- An ability to auto-feed specific scrolls (maybe a rarity/type filter) would be a nice improvement, but that may be an arch site upgrade that I don’t have access to yet (Earth Crusher ?)
- Unlocking the obelisks felt very rewarding, like way over-tuned rewarding but I don’t know what you have planed for the future of the game. On the other hand, it still feels that I’m struggling with casino tokens and miner’s respect gains, but that’s probably a good thing for the longevity of the game.
Hope you’ll keep updating, you made a cool game with some very solid foundations !
Edit : After playing a lot yesterday and making some significant progress, I’ll add some more thoughts :
- I managed to “unblocked” myself from casino hell, but only by getting extremely lucky with insane combos. It doesn’t feel very engaging to me, but the pacing seems ok after all. Maybe it could benefit from a mid/late game cost reducing upgrade like the caviar shop ?
- The Eternal Branch helped for a bit with the Arch Site, but my progress quickly stalled again. It will be the last mini-game that I’ll manage to uncover all of the upgrades, by far
- I figured out that you can right-click scrolls/equipment on the battlefield to feed/trash them, so unless you plan to add an auto-loot feature, an auto-feeder might not be necessary after all
- I think the skill tree prices are too low past the 3rd level. Assuming you’ll be in hard mode when you unlock levels 4/5/6 from the casino shop, you’ll be swimming in e-tokens by activating elites for a few seconds.
- On the subject of difficulty, have you considered to reset the highest area reached when switching at the obelisks ? Since there’s no death penalty you can cheese absolutely everything by pure brute-force. Enemy damage is way more impactful than their health pool, you’ll get one-shot a lot but will still manage to kill things for loot anywhere you want. Same for the resources, you can be out-leveled at the beach but still farm the shells at increased rate if you need them.
- The buff page also doesn’t show you what the next level will grant
- A quick mana recap (regeneration, used/total) on runes & buff pages could be useful to add. Also it would be neat if the runes upgrade tooltip showed you the mana difference next to the overall cost (i.e : “Mana : 25,0 (+2))
- The minimum roll number isn’t reflected on the individual slot UI (the thing that let you turn autoplay on/off)
- Buying a +1 wheel spin from the trader can’t be immediately played, you have to wait for the next reset (may be intended), and the token rewards seems a bit low
- The bats and skeletons are named “Snake” and from the swamp in the vault
That’s all for now, keep up the good work !
Edit 2 : I just found a stupid way to “cheat” at the slots machines, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it earlier and if it’s an intended behavior, but it sure allows for some quick and big token gains. Since chain reactions aren’t triggering a new roll on the targeted machine, all you have to do is disable autoplay and roll all but one machine to the biggest gains you can, leave them as it, and continuously roll the last one to set off chain multipliers on those big numbers, instead of relying on luck.
