This is really cool! Pico-8 projects always impress me.

Thanks for playing!
In case you're curious, the invest button was originally supposed to add all of your damage to your money, but PICO-8 has some issues with changing big numbers easily or quickly. (Everything is a signed 16-bit integer, meaning that the highest number you can store without some math magic is around 32000. This is why the upgrades don't get more expensive past 30k.) So I decided to change the mechanic to delete any remaining money before adding, which I hoped would add a little bit of strategy while also fixing stuff behind the scenes... I do kind of regret not making it more intuitive though.
I love the ideas here and had a fun time with the game! The portals and obstacles are a great addition. I think that they could be even better if you give the player a smaller arena, that may force them to use the portals more. I also thought the major bug (the flying worm chunks) was really funny, so it's not the end of the world.
This is really fun, I wish it went longer! The menu is incredibly polished, the music choices fit, and the pixel art looks clean. If I can nitpick, I wish that the text crawl in the intro was a little faster, and I wish that the portals were faster to open/close. I know this because there was a bug where every once in a while I'd get a couple of seconds of instantly teleporting to where I click, and the platforming was way more fun when the bug was active. A health bar would also be nice.
This is awesome! It looks great and the theme is used in a really interesting way. It looks like the levels are actually randomly generated, which is very impressive for the time constraint if true. I wish that it was clearer when I got hit, and some music would be nice. After I died in level 5 I called it quits. Very cool game!
I like this a lot! I wish there was a multiplier display for clarity though. Maybe some random obstacles or events would have encouraged chaotic systems, because right now if you just want to win you can stack all portals in a line or grid and optimize the chaos out. But also, I think that if you make a game like this for a game jam and the primary complaint is game balance, then you did something right! This is a solid foundation for sure.
I had a lot of fun! I didn't read the controls so I was lost for the first little bit, but after that I started getting the hang of it. Both of the game over effects and the speed up effect were all really cool. After 5 tries though, I couldn't get to any kind of ending so I put it down (I wasn't sure if there was a goal to hit or if it was infinite.)
