Hey gamers!
As a fellow D&D enthusiast and developer who’s been traveling nonstop lately, I’ve really felt the pain of not having a consistent group or table to play at. That constant craving for adventure—storytelling, dice rolls, epic campaigns—just wouldn’t go away. So I put together this free online tool called Dream Weaver to help scratch that itch, letting me (and hopefully others) run custom 5e sessions anytime, anywhere, especially for solo play or quick pickups with a few friends when a full group (or human DM) isn’t possible.
Give it a try if you’re interested: https://dreamweaver-app.itch.io/army-of-the-damned
What You’ll Find Inside:
• Easy ways to start sessions without prep: Character creation, maps, encounters, and story ideas that stick to 5e rules, all streamlined so you can dive right in.
• Core stuff like character sheets, combat sims (handling rolls, spells, and foes), random events, and lore-friendly prompts to inspire your playthroughs.
• Super flexible—great for short bursts on the go or saving progress for longer stories.
• Fun extras like NPC backgrounds, quest starters, loot drops, and even ambient sounds to make it feel more immersive and D&D-like.
Keeping It Simple and Accessible:
• No big multiplayer requirements (though you can share if you want company).
• Totally free—no signups, no ads, no catches.
• Works well on mobile and even offline for travel woes like bad connections.
This started as my personal fix for D&D withdrawal while on the road, and it’s helped me a ton, but I’d love some community input to make it better. Have you tried something similar? What features would you add—more races, homebrew options, or tweaks for better solo flow? Any bugs or ideas to improve the experience? Your thoughts could really help shape it into something even more useful for players like us.
May your dice always favor you!
