Thanks for checking it out, but yeah, it is 8 A6 pages, essentially 4 A5 pages landscape with a two columns and then cut in half to make 8 pages. So it does fit in the allotted space going by what’s on https://itch.io/jam/appx-n-jam
I think there’s a lot of cool ideas here, and very well fleshed out npcs, and city adventures are always cool and interesting conceptually when dealing with so much that can’t clearly (in a useful context) be defined like a confined dungeon. While the layout certainly fit well with the used book theme, I personally struggled with the cursive, and the brown-on-tan font, but was able to copy the text into a text editor. From a practical running at the table standpoint, a more legible font would make this a lot easier to reference at the table.
I really enjoyed the ideas here, and I think a simple, legible version would let the creativity shine even more.
The layout is really great, I liked the map overlay on the castle background, it looked good but was still very legible. Also great job of putting an appropriate amount of stuff in for the space allowed, there’s enough to feel like a interesting space but not too much that it feels like things were left out because of a lack of room. Really cool
Notes about the value and rate gold can be stripped from sarcophagi and what happens if someone eats strange lichen and in a volcano that can fill with lava. Really speaks of real world running the game experience, I can just see the player protesting that their character could strip the gold way faster than the lava could flood and get them. Classic
