Notes about the value and rate gold can be stripped from sarcophagi and what happens if someone eats strange lichen and in a volcano that can fill with lava. Really speaks of real world running the game experience, I can just see the player protesting that their character could strip the gold way faster than the lava could flood and get them. Classic
A dungeoncrawl with a mission and variable timer. Looks like good old-school fun to me. I do think there's a good chance that the magma might rise to level 3 too quickly, which I presume kills the prisoners? I'm also worried that the map might be a little too linear to allow PCs to sneak their way around the cultists if they choose. The original beasties, the urn-ghouls, and the soot-lurker are pretty cool. There's a lot to like here!
Thanks for the feedback! I realized there were some missing connections on my map and the routes in/out weren't marked, which I think reduces the linearity. I also had cut the description of the exterior which hints at the second entrance, which I've now added back in. I do agree though, it turned out more linear than I wanted / expected.
On the magma level rising, it will never actually inundate level 3, although I can see where the confusion comes from. I added some notes to the delving rules section to hopefully clarify.
Looking forward to reading your entry!
I like that the tension progresses, but I wonder if the final level of escalation is too harsh? Left me wondering if it wouldn’t keep the players from exploring all the good content here, which btw is nicely written and laid out!
I really apreciate the clarity and readability , a lot of the concepts are also tickling a lot of inspiration but I wish there were more artwork! Rhe cover looks so sick. The whole adventure feels classic, yet creative and I might just steal this for a black hex encounter on my map as themes of forgotten heretical / pagan things are on point with the mood of our Sunday games!
Hey, thanks for the kind words! I look forward to reading your submission. Interior art is incoming! Ant Acid is super talented!
It's a fun-looking adventure! The factions are fun and definitely promote an OSR approach. font-size is good and the layout is neat and readable. Some of the room and feature descriptions feel a bit wordy making it a bit tricky to find relevant information quickly. The forthcoming interior art will probably help break up the text flow a bit too though.
Thanks for the feedback! Since you mention it, I completely agree that I need to work on terseness. I might do another editing pass when art gets added.
No worries the adventure looks very fun, I'm looking forward to playing it and seeing what other stuff you release too. 😊
