huge points for style. the controls were smooth but the key bindings were really not easy to use. I want to be able to say nothing bad about the game it looks and sounds amazing but between CTRL+W and C for dash I couldn't get past the first tree.

I almost spit my coffee when right click context menus worked. tbh it took me a while to realize that the clip to hold the papers was a clip, I thought it was a lamp at first and ignored it. the computer system was immaculate. the clues were a little wierd but I could figure it out. I also liked how there were times where I was not at all sure what I was doing but still picked the right suspect. When the new cases kept just appearing I started wondering if it was an infinite loop. There were a couple of focus bugs that kept popping up, focus would stay on the computer while walking or leave the computer while trying to use it, it also does not play the best with dual monitors. This isnt my genre at all but I really liked this.
I was confused about how the waves worked until I noticed there was a timer (I didnt notice it until round 6) with that plus the no enemy hit indicator there were several times where I thought I died but actually beat the wave. I liked the art direction and tbh had you not mentioned the shader stuttering in the description I might not have noticed at all. As for the gameplay Im not really sure what to say about it, its kinda like i guess bland, ultimately it was just click on one of these upgrades and then run around in a circle, if it had one more element to it or if the upgrade choices felt like they mattered a little more I think it would have been a lot more fun. (dont take this as a bad review, I rated it well, just giving some honest feedback)
I couldnt figure out what was going on. The buttons were kind of hard to see against the background, I kept looking around wondering if there was a button that I wasnt noticing. And I had no idea what was going on with the combat it seemed like I click one of the buttons and maybe it attacked? I really dont know but I definitely know that it made my team run away or die.
This reminded me of a game from like 20 years ago that I cant remember the name of. The Visuals were great, I loved the model choices, especially the enemies. The shaders were nice and clean looking but boy did they mess up performance. specifically the fire splash looking shader that would appear around the enemies, that one seemed to cause the most performance drop. I loved the item mechanic, most of the negative ones were inconvenient in a way that made the gameplay interesting and fun, but some of them were just straight out of hell. I could have sworn I heard one of you laughing when I realized the one that inverted the movement keys also messed with the mouse. diabolical.
Restarting the game after dying didn't seem to work very well, everything was unlit and flickering until getting to the shop keeper. This happened every time that I restarted, I liked the music choice for the game, it totally went along with the game reminding me of something from 20 years ago.
pretty solid game overall lots of stars
The art and the audio were pretty good. The sound track during the forest stage threw me off a little bit, it wasnt a bad track but I felt like it just "wasnt the sound track I expected from the visuals". Hopefully that makes sense. The controls were smooth but while playing around with them every now and then (rarely) jumps got cancelled abruptly before reaching their full normal height. I liked the combat and the way it wasnt hard to win but was also easy to lose at the same time.
I enjoyed the mini bosses. The first one that I saw gave me an oh wtf is this reaction.
It's basically skyrim. I liked the way the upgrade system balances out.
The upgrades curve very well with the enemy difficulty up to around level 30, after that I got really op and it turned into an idle game just sitting on the shields while the pylons killed everything.
Overall, great job I would enjoy playing a finished version of this.Thank you! Honestly, I would be shocked if you said you played it for more than a couple of minutes. And it is nice to read that someone agrees that it could be a nice prototype. I am going to be putting my main project on hold for a while to put a bunch more time into this and see what I can do with it.

I'd really appreciate feedback, I put about every last drop of energy that I had into this game. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to implement all of the assets that I made.
