Welcome !
I'm Goblin, and I'm looking for people to help develop a concept that I've been working on for over a year now. So far I have a team of two, consisting of myself and my close friend Dystal, who is helping with the art. The game itself is a visual novel, based heavily off of Your Turn To Die, and other media in the death game genre such as The Circle. The gameplay would include regular vn style choices and reading, with an added 'debate' type element, as you try to convince the other contestants not to vote for you.
Right now we're looking for concept artists, character designers, and writers. Writers are what we're mainly looking for ATP as I'm working on the demo script. People of all experience are welcomed to reach out! I will admit, this is my first attempt at an actual management position for a game, and I'm very new to the community. Also, this is an unpaid position. I'm planning for the game itself to be free, and I don't expect any money to be made off of it. All work will be credited.
Premise:
A group of ten people awaken within the confines of a hospital, and are told that they're being treated. The ailment they have is never disclosed to them, only for the fact that it's something terrible, and they're lucky to be alive. After gaining their strength, they are transferred to a place called 'The Ward', where an enigmatic woman named Dolly ropes the patients into an experimental 'game'.
EDIT: The rules of the game and set up have been changed to better suit the logic and worldbuilding!
The set up of the death game now more closely follows Mafia/Werewolf. There's only one twist. Every round, people vote for a king. The King's job is to use their fair judgment to vote for the person they (and their court) think is the traitor. That person is then executed, and a new king is elected. The game goes on until all the traitors are voted out, or the number of traitors matches the number of members of the court.
When the protagonist learns that they've been assigned the 'traitor' role, they have a choice. Either betray everyone around her in hopes of survival, or risk it all to escape with everyone alive.
Gameplay includes a suspicion meter, and two branching paths based on your suspicion level.
