Welcome! This FAQ covers the most common questions players ask about the simulator, controls, settings, and reporting issues.

General

Q: What is this simulator?
A: It’s a real-time tactical simulation where you command humans, soldiers, airstrikes, and rescue teams against waves of zombies. The goal is to survive and optimize your strategy.

Q: Where can I play it?
A: The game runs in the browser via the itch.io page or the embedded WebAssembly build in the project.

Controls

Q: How do I pause and resume?
A: Use the pause button or the assigned keyboard shortcut shown in the HUD.

Q: What tools can I select?
A: You can choose airstrike, zombie spawn, support, and other active tools from the toolbar.

Q: Can I zoom and pan the map?
A: Yes — zoom in/out and pan with the camera controls. Exact keys are listed in the help panel.

Gameplay

Q: What’s the best starting strategy?
A: Start by placing strong defenses and a small team of soldiers, then use airstrikes and support units to control zombie clusters before they overwhelm your base.

Q: How should I use rescue teams?
A: Deploy them to recover isolated survivors or protect high-value areas once zombies are under control.

Bugs and Issues

Q: What should I include in a bug report?
A: Please include:

  • Browser and OS
  • What you were doing
  • What happened vs what you expected
  • Screenshots if possible

Q: The game is slow or laggy. What can I do?
A: Try reducing entity density, lowering simulation speed, or using a newer browser. Also check if background tabs or apps are using a lot of CPU.

Suggestions

Q: Want to request a feature?
A: Great! Share what you’d like to see, such as new zombie types, improved AI behavior, extra tools, or better graphics.

Q: How do I suggest balance changes?
A: Describe which unit or mechanic feels too weak or too strong, and why. The more detail, the easier it is to evaluate.

Community Help

Q: Where do I post strategy questions?
A: Use the strategy tag so others can find your tactics discussion quickly.

Q: Can I post screenshots or replays?
A: Yes — use the showcase tag for interesting simulation results or creative builds.

Can I pause the game?

Yes! You can pause and resume at any time by pressing SPACE or clicking the pause button. Take as long as you need to plan your strategy. How long does a typical playthrough take?

A single session typically lasts 15-60+ minutes depending on your playstyle and difficulty settings. Some players prefer quick 15-minute challenges, while others engage in extended 2+ hour survival runs. Is there a tutorial?

Yes. New players start with an interactive tutorial that teaches you how to deploy units, use tools, and read the HUD. You can skip it anytime if you prefer to learn by experimenting. Will this run on my laptop?

The browser version runs on any modern laptop with 4GB RAM and an updated browser. For best performance, we recommend a dedicated GPU and 8GB RAM. See System Requirements section for full details. Can I customize difficulty?

Yes. You can adjust zombie spawn rates, unit effectiveness, and challenge modes. You can also enable “Survival Mode” for unlimited zombie pressure, or select timed challenge scenarios. Does it work on mobile/tablets?

The browser version works on tablets with landscape orientation. Mobile phones can run it but the small screen may make control panels cramped. A dedicated mobile app is planned for future release. Can I restart a game I’m losing?

Yes. You can restart at any time using the restart button in the HUD. You can also load previous saves (on desktop version) to try different strategies. Is there a sandbox/creative mode?

Yes. In Custom Scenarios, you can spawn unlimited units and toggle zombie threats on/off to experiment with strategies without survival pressure. How often do you update the game?

We release updates monthly with new features, balance adjustments, and community feedback. Check our Changelog or follow us on social media for latest updates. Will this game run offline?

The desktop versions (Windows, macOS, Linux) run fully offline. The browser version requires internet connection to load, but no internet required during play. Are there graphics settings?

Yes. You can adjust particle effects, zombie detail level, and camera smoothing in the settings menu to optimize performance on your device. Can I play with a controller?

Currently keyboard and mouse are primary controls. Controller support is on our roadmap for future updates.

★ Introduction

On 2 September 1945 after the short closing of world war 2 the US government and group of governing bodies in “the big three” came together to find a solution to a growing problem across our world, science and technological advancements become to grow slower and less initiative. L.I.I.T.S(Laystar institution of investigation and theoretical science) a new government funded organisation by The big three was created, consisting of some of the worlds most intelligent and initiative scientist and researchers. just 25 years after there founding in 1945 the company had grew to be a multi billion dollar company, but had also brought life born to the “C.O.M.P-A.S.S-45” a new invention that allowed for matter to be moved through time between a sort of inside dimension.

★ ABOUT THE PROJECT

Like most I a UE5/4 developers made a indie game, but its backrooms…

Based on a creepypasta, Liminal expedition brings a nostalgic feeling of being lost in endless piles of empty rooms with fluorescent lights at full hum-buzz. Maybe there’s more to explore or will you just be stuck here forever? alone. friendless.

“If you’re not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you’ll end up in the Backrooms, where it’s nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.

God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.”

i like it but the camera movement is just a tad janky
