yeah a lot of the time poisons will sneak through because of the poor AI, I'm sorry but I'm glad you figured it out and enjoyed it! :)

thank you!

Thank you! Glad you liked it :)

:)

all amazing games! Yall are so skilled :) I'm glad we all got to meet and share experience

I hadn't considered youtube before, I'll see what I can do when we make our next game. thanks for the tips and words! Have a good day :)

all great ideas! Originally we wanted to include a death system where your previous lives would help keep you alive longer until finally you reach the ending. We didn't have enough time though. Another idea we had was multiple battle fronts in the heart, brain, lymph nodes, etc. And you have to track the battles and keep them in check in levels/waves of different poisons being tested. We stopped that early since it was complicated though 😅

Thank you for your compliments! As for money I can't speak for the rest of my team but I feel video games should be on a free but donate to support and get some perks basis ie: patreon.

we didn't get a debounce on the heart in time so autoclickers can alleviate somd hand strain. Thank you!

thank you!

:)

thank you!

Thank you!

thanks for the input! The poisons like to sneak past because the antidote AI isn't ideal. If we had more time we would have liked to tune it. Sorry : p

of coyrse you can!

will do

combat is really responsive. its like a real version of those mobile app ad game. but it got stale after 9 levels of the same guys and the same gun and the same level layout. I am pretty upset that I got to level 10 and got killed through the wall by a boss only to find out that there is no saving. cool concept though. as stated in other comments camera is a bit poor. widening it a little, varying the level layout, adding more guns, and varying enemy AI and mechanics to force the player to dodge and cleave through the enemies (also shrink the enemy hitbox to e smaller than the sprite, its a game design thing) would all be pretty simple and make the 9 levels up to 10 less of a chore and more of a snappy action gunner. killing swaths of enemies is really cathartic but you need to go out of your way to do it, pretty nice game overall. I give so many tips because I like it a lot, as I said, killing enemies is really satisfying and the graphics are cool.

found a bug where your gun gets stuck 90 degrees rendering you a very bad exterminator. pretty fun though! (rip: my run)

not until the deadline sadly. I wish I could know how my game is doing

this game is adorable. how has it not reached more people yet? Its not all that polished but the levels are fun and pretty darn hard, almost celeste-esque, the music was also really good which hasn't been common (understandably, music is hard). the cute boss suprised me! very charming game. deserves an honorable mention at least :)

EDIT: bug: you can't jump out of the death pit after walking back so you need to restart the game

project in the top left click "export" export as exe for the most accessibility in a download. for the MOST accessibility export as web, rename the main file to "index.html", zip it, change the itch page's mode to html game and add the zip, finally check the "play this as a web game" box on the zip file you uploaded on the itch page. you can also follow a video tutorial if that wasn't clear. there are great 3 minute ones online.

I felt it pretty creatively used the theme. I hope it wins best theme adherance!

make sure to click the button "include pck in exe" when exporting for windows! otherwise it won't work unless you also supply the pck file.

I haven't gotten to play cool looking games because their pcks were missing :(

Itch says they wont let me download till they review or something

you didn't include the pck! quick you still have time!

I love how your game has a moral. We never added a moral to ours but in hindsight you could probably pull an anti animal testing moral from it somewhere. Your game is super polished! Well done.

really well polished! Thanks for the advice btw

I have added it, thank you for the advice! Sorry for not doing it, I was worried it would be hard since the project uses save files. The save file menu is a little ugly but it does work :)

smart, I hadn't tried steam. Pretty new to ubuntu

I'm on Linux using WINE to run the EXE so that's probably it but none of the text is displayed :(

...

Yo! before the deadline: your linux build doesn't work. I got the windows executable running with WINE though so its not impossible since most everyone has WINE

Poggies

yea i may come back too this tho... in pygame or gamemaker

yea, i unity crashed at some point, and corrupted it i didn't know that till now

thank you! i had a bad time with unity (and may not use it again for a while) me and unity arn't compatible, i learned from this jam not to overshoot, and not to force yourself to use something your not comfortable with cause its (the best option) i like pygame and no one can tell me its bad... what where we talking about

yes this was my first jam

sorry, i fixed that, in the comments i link to an online python ide

please still comment here cause im not sure if there is or isn't a system on there for that

https://replit.com/@kevery1/lilfriend#main.py this will work temporarily!
