It's a little subtle, but at the end of the level you fall onto spikes, which kill you, so "death = progress"

I honestly was in such a rush and so tired that I didn't even notice that it said code and assets . I did use some open source art from GDevelop, and JSfxr to create the sound effects. That's my bad, though in my defense I only had ~5 hours.

If you get really close to the block you can dig diagonal if you press A + W which lets you build a staircase

There is no collider when the guy hits you past the bounds, so you get stuck.
