Hello, I just released a tiny game - simple and relaxing with a focus on fun with highscores. Basically a game you can play while listening to some music (e.g. while waiting for dinner to be ready).

https://depascifi.itch.io/ssfop1

Gameplay:

- Two types of rockets (exploding and piercing) are fired from a cannon automatically.

- The targets are three types of asteroids who give different points.

- A multi-kill bonus allows for distinctive highscore success.

- You rotate the cannon and decide what asteroid would be the best target in the given situation. You have to aim carefully because the rockets are slow and each asteroid has its own speed and trajectory.

Below is a set of screenshots to demonstrate how the game-mechanics work.

Hello! I am proud to present a new tiny browser game I made.

"The Farmer And The Ghosts" is a short, casual non-violent 'survival' game.

Link to the game page:

The Farmer And The Ghosts

Story/Idea:

It is about a farmer whose farm is invaded by hordes of rather cute ghosts. But lacking any sense of ownership they can be quite pesky because they have the tendency to steal the farmer's sheep.

Gameplay:

You play the farmer. Your main weapon is a rifle. But no worries: Ghosts don't die. But luckily they get easily scared. When they are scared enough they will flee - donating XP-points that will help you level up and get access to various upgrades.

Your second type of weapon are water bombs which create puddles on the map. And,  naturally, ghosts are also scared of water.

Goal:

Reach a certain XP-Level

Do not lose more than three of your sheep

Do not fall asleep (because that is what will happen when a ghost touches you)

Features:

-- Short (less than 10 minutes)

-- 4 levels of difficulty

-- The game mechanics (especially the use of water bombs) allow for clever gameplay

-- Different types of upgrades. Some will help you level up faster, some will upgrade your weapon and some will provide you with other means to scare the ghosts away (a watchdog, "robotic scareghosts", a helpful neighbor etc.)

But pictures say more than words. Below are four screenshots that shall give you a good idea of how the game works. Thank your for your time and I will be thrilled if you decide to play the game. I hope you have fun :)

I mentioned this in my post some days ago: Most racing game players play with both hands on keyboard - e.g. left hand accelerating and braking, right hand (usually arrow keys) for steering.

Great prototype, really fun. 90 % of the time I play racing games; but recently I was addicted to "20 minutes till dawn". Hehe, ... a survival game with cars - I love it :)

The only thing that bugged me a bit was the selection of the perks via mouse. From experience I know that most racing game players use both hands for driving -- usually left hand for accellerating/braking and right hand for steering. Ever so often I lost a heart after I had selected a perk because I was not quick enough to get my fingers back on the arrow keys. Maybe it would be good to have a one second pause after the perks menu closes.

Thank you for the nice feedback :)

Concerning the arrow colors:
The little rotation arrows would suffice to indicate in what direction the direction arrows are going to rotate when a bus drives over them. But I thought it might be helpful to also use different colors: The yellow direction arrows always rotate clockwise, the white ones always rotate counterclockwise.

Especially in more complex levels the colors might be helpful: When your solution failed, but you are sure that a part of your solution was correct, you can quickly recunstruct this part in your next attempt by remembering to put a white arrow here and a yellow arrow there etc.
