Woowwwww!!!! This is definitely one of my favourite entries that I've seen so far! I was already thinking the game was slick when you used the momentum of pinky to move around curves, and then when bounced and turned into greeny? Forgeddaboutit!!

The only part that threw me were those razor blade when you had to jump over them as just pinky, it was a bit difficult to time the jump right to avoid the saws that were off camera. If the camera was zoomed out a bit more I think it would've helped get the timing better.

I didn't make it to the end of the 1, 2, 3, 4 level. I almost made it up that vertical shaft, but didn't have enough speed. I found it a bit difficult to time my jump over the two rotating saw blades. (But I'm not the best at platformers).

Loved the sound effects you guys had in there XD

I thought this was going to be a cutesy seal game, but turned out to be an Orca horror game. So many times the whale jumped out right where I was (they got me a couple times too).

I do wish that there was a signal that an orca was about to pop out, like the patch of ice gets darker, or something, so I could bail out and leave the seal I was lining up to hit to die.

A very original take on a platformer. Took a little bit to get a handle on the controls, but once you get going, well, you get going.

I did think that dying on colliding on a wall was a bit much, and the ice block forcing you to turn around got a bit tedious when you had to go back to the start to flip around again, I was reluctant to jump, spin, and return on a wall, because I didn't want to start each level again.

Although those difficulties probably made succeeding feel better then it would have otherwise. Slick work overall.

"If you actually manage to complete the game please let me know"
and I took that personally XD

Zipping around using the booster rocket was really nice, especially using it to dodge incoming fire blasts. At first though I didn't realise that I actually had that upgrade, and instead just ran and rocket jumped over those little baby spikes.

I did get stuck on the vertical jump for awhile, one part being because I didn't actually realise that I had gotten the ability to fly. I think the player needs to be eased more into seeing what their power ups can do.

On the vertical jump, since moving around is a bit difficult in the air, I found that even if I started right where the up arrow was, I would constantly move too far to the left or right and miss the gap (its possible that I just suck though)

I'm unsure how this next problem would be solved, but since your rocket knocks you back, when I tried to wall climb, I'd often not angle it right, and push myself too far away from the wall, and need to start again, which wasn't too bad, except for the big vertical jump, where I would make it, but then push myself off the wall and fall back down.

Overall I liked the game and would have liked to see a larger map to really use the manoeuvrability of the rocket. It was fun to go flying, just not enough opportunities to do.

super addictive gameplay, if you don’t have that timer on top I wouldn’t have believed that I’d been playing for 35 minutes.

The world felt like being in a transparent photoshop layer XD.

I’ll have to watch the speed runs, there was one jump that I just couldn’t get past.

This was a fun game, reminiscent of the old flash game The Impossible Quiz. The only part that I got seriously stuck on was the verification, select the Unsubscribe buttons.

I loved that you had that “Hard Mode” button, I couldn’t help but click it XD

a cool twist on the tower defence style of games. Those germs had no chance against my crocs on speed dial >:)

I do think I cheesed it a little bit towards the end, I found that I could just spam dialing 3-6 whose numbers I lumped around the bend, and constantly shoot out a barrage.

Definitely a fun game to play.

Love the design of the main character, so cute! Really enjoyed the launching mechanic in the game, it was great to go flying around the platforms (even when I flung myself directly into spikes XD)

I never though that life as a penguin would be tough not because of sea lions or whales, but because of the penguin police rough housing a little guy like me. I loved the game over screen, I wasn't slick enough to reach the win screen, my best score was 90.

I swear once I find those kids putting all those snow men on the middle of the road! XD

What a relief that I don't live in a place that snows, else I would be in car accidents on the daily. Loved maxing out the top speed till I was flying on the high way.

As soon as I got bigger when I ate the first piece of fruit I thought, "God please let me eat the bullies who punted me off a cliff", and you guys absolutely delivered.

I love games where you slowly build up your size until you can take down everything, though I felt a bit bad going after the boars, a slime's gotta do what a slime's gotta do.

The title screen was also an eye catcher, I loved the art work of your game, really cute. Leyza you joined us in a discord chat while we had streamed right? I wish you had asked us to play your game, I had a blast. (and sorry if I've gotten mixed up with someone else >.<)

Very mush wished we had time to add tool tips to the shop, but like everyone in a game jam, we ran out of time. The Snake in my Boot card resets the enemies luck to 0. It was meant to make people think twice about loading up on blocks/luck with their first couple of shots.

Thanks for playing our game :)

I'm a big Rango and Rattle Snake Jake fan, and mentioned to my team mates that I'd love to add a rattle snake card (which we didn't have time for), and then the next day one of my team mates gave the jankiest character we had the name of Rattle Snake Jake XD

You're very right about not having to change tactics all that much, we started adding ways to prevent that, i.e. the Snake in my Boot card sets the enemy's block/luck to 0, and the bloody horse shoe doing damage based on how much luck/block the player that shoots it have, in Quiet Quin and Dead Arm Dick deck's, but I in this version I almost always use the same strategy, we're for sure going to change that.

The cards overlapping was something that we saw very early in the jam, but seemed like a low priority issue, given that there was so much core functionality to add, but its definitely something we need to address (whether we should fix it, or provide power ups that stop it from happening).

The tumble weeds, haha yes, we've gotten a number of comments about those, they do nothing. Initially we said that if you shoot them you should earn money, but then decided that that doesn't make sense, then said they should damage you, but then decided that that would be annoying, then the idea was floated that they should put another dud tumbleweed card into your deck if it hits you, but by then we had run out of time.

The horse riding was also meant to be much larger, but as all game jams go, we ran out of time.

Thanks for playing our game

I loved walking around with my turret on my head, and that with enough upgrades I could just mow down zombies. Can definitely see the potential for a survival game. Your style is very aesthetically pleasing too. I am sorry to say that I never found the temple before the game crashed on me :(

Phew! Fun game, I got to wave 17 before I couldn't find empty patches to jump in any more. I do feel like the extra health got really expensive really fast, and the extra time upgrade isn't really that much of an upgrade, it would definitely be in my best interest to have short rounds with high health.

The longer jump was definitely the way to go I think to survive.

Did you catch that ludicrous display last night?

I've never had an elevator ride take so long in my life! Loved that it seemed like my second co-worker seemed like he had been body snatched and was just following some script. I liked the mini game where you had to fully block the noise your co-workers made from reaching your ears, but didn't quite understand how the other mini game affected the game. I only managed to get all 3 in one go once, it was super speedy.

This was like playing Office Space the interactable game, down to the pink shirt and everything.

Hopefully 197 bottles of hair growth with be enough to get a full head of hair again.

Well done for getting through your first game, getting something into a finished state is extremely hard. Would love to see this expanded into a "explore the castle, solve the mystery" kind of game.

The aesthetics of this game is really cool, I laughed at "Gabaghoul". The mix of 3d and 2d art blended really well. I don't really know how to play poker (the chart you gave helped a lot), and being able to cheat definitely helped ;)

I kept waiting for someone to call me out for slipping in extra cards and burning the cards on the table, but I must've been too slick for them.

Loved the faces that enemies made when they lost all their chip o.0

I did run into a bug on the html version where my cards just would not show, but appeared again when I won by having a better hand than the enemy (so in the scenario where they don't fold).

(1 edit)

Very cool mechanic to take out enemies, was certainly a challenge, my end score was 17881 with 27 fails, with probably 20 of those being from the last level, the shooters were spawn camping me XD
A reset button would be really helpful, often I knew I had stuffed up a round but had to wait to my guy got shot down.

Fist Bump!

The design of the main character is really cool, I love that he aura farms with his arms crossed if he's not moving or jumping. I would've love to have seen more use of dash on the platform parts, the effect of it looked really nice.

My end score was 2442 in 7:42.50

Something that came up, I'm not sure if the levels are partially generated, but my first game was using a keyboard, and I couldn't get my guy to clear the jump to reach level 50, but when I played on controller I had no problem.

Hitting those corners felt great when I managed to stay on the road, I liked that even if I failed it didn't slow me down that much, and recovery was easy.

Only recommendation would be to add a setting to reduce the camera tilting, me personally I can't play games that have them for too long without getting light headed.

Very cool that you had 4 mini games as your game. I enjoyed Slick Sam the most, but wish it would be a bit slower, I only just breached 900 points.

The dialog made me laugh, faugeddabowdit!

Boy do those donkeys move! Only one time was I able to get 2 in the same loop. My end score was 964, was that any good?

A very chill and relaxing game.

Wasn't expecting to see a sequel in game jam, the commitment is impressive. Loved that the game ended without a confrontation, a nice change of pace. As you saw in the stream, I struggled with the web slinging,  but your advice of dashing too we were flying B)

What a cool game you guys have made. Sliding between sections felt so smooth, going out of my way to get... civilians XD Really loved being able to grab enemies and crush them in my hand to heal, that was slick. That ultimate move was cool too. Your style and aesthetic gave me tmnt vibes, would love to see more references of me being a virus in a pc causing havoc

The only gripe I had was the mouse felt a bit too sensitive, and when I did use the ultimate move, sometimes I would find a way to spin the camera around me, so I couldn't see where the thunder was going (but that could have just been me with bad hand eye coordination).

Wow! What a game to get out in a game jam, you guys must have worked your butts off! I genuinely would not be surprised if I saw this in steam, there's so much polish and little details, the difference in effect when you skate, roll, jumping off of walls. Loved that you used a big floppy disk as the check mark point, very fitting for being set in the early 2000s.

I'm glad that the aliens didn't mind that their pizza had fallen into acid, was blown up, and torn apart by spikes.. Adds to the flavour perhaps!

Cute lil game, love the face the cat makes when he's able to get into his box :)

The final puzzle felt a bit tedious, but other than that was good.

All the sprites in here were very cute, even the whale and bears that tried to eat me.

Really like the design of the boss, like if Megatron meets steam train. I did find it a bit difficult to avoid attacks that come from across the screen. As in there was plenty of time to see where it was coming from, but hard to tell when I should slide.

Overall good work!

Very charming game, it felt great point farming by dodging around groups of bears. Its understandable that they're so upset with me, I broke into their homes and ate all their cupcakes. Loved that you used the tune of Teddy Bear's Picnic, and that it sped up the further you got! Really added to the intensity.

I have to ask, the hand movements the player does, was it inspired by the dance moves from Lethal Company?

Urgh! I hate it when buffoons steal my samples!! Luckily I was hit some slick moves and scare them off :)

Really satisfying getting a high combo. You were able to add so many different cards in such a short period of time, it adds great replay value, which is rare for game jams. The variation of cards gave a good level of deliberating if I should attack or heal, and adding special cards with effects was great.

Next time we will aim for a combo of 1000 >:)

As I mentioned in chat, I really loved the dialog interactions with the customers, really captures how silly and annoying they can be, by having to figure out what they want based on your conversations. Would love a scenario where someone is being especially mean and you purposefully give them a bad hair cut XD. I wish my hair stylist could spawn more hair on my head too!

Definitely an interesting game idea, I haven't seen anyone use the format of itch.io as part of their game. I did lose focus a bit on puzzle #2, as I was expecting to see an executable file in there, perhaps another README in there would help guide the player?  You mentioned while we were streaming in chat together that you can't program, I highly recommend looking into some godot 2d tutorial, like the "Your first 2D game" tutorial in godot's documentation, you'll be surprised how little you need to learn, until you can create a game that would give an interface to support your style of game.

Keep up the good work :)

The "kill" cam was a great idea. Right as I slicked someone I thought, "but now I don't get to see it :(", so that was a nice surprise. It was fun playing as a road raging animal, trying to cut in front of others. It was frustrating getting close to taking out all cars, but then being taken out by a wall, it discouraged me from making really aggressive road ragey moves.

What a challenging game, definitely reminiscent of old school platformers. It took a bit to get the hang of dashing over enemies, but once I got the hang of it it felt great to jump over a shield enemy to get the bastard out!

Really liked that you pause when you shoot, especially when you did so in (which was basically all of the time). The only grip I have is sometimes the player would snap to a wall when I was trying to go up or down, which would often lead me head first to a ball of acid.

Mater's cameo gave me a laugh.

It felt really good moving from guy to guy ;)

Took me a moment to get the controls, but once you get going do you really get going. Loved how fast you ended up moving, and having to think quickly to decide which bubble ramp you should use.

The voice lines, and noises made by the ducks and dogs were very cute too, enjoyed this game a lot.

Phew! Finally beat the game when I lowered the storm down to a 5! It felt good hitting those tricky jumps. The art and playable characters are very charming, and I was pleased to finally get the racoon (not trash panda!) back home. Also, after being in chat together, I realised the voice of the racoon and squirrel sounded familiar, were those your puppy's bark? XD

It did feel frustrating fighting the storm in such a way that I could see my guy being blown towards spikes, but the movement to go forward just wasn't enough to save it, like there was just no way to save my run.

Although when I did succeed, the failures before just made it the sweeter.

My end score was 936.

I was in chat streaming earlier, I said I'd play your game after dinner and here I am. I liked the graphics of your game, they give my strong claymation vibes, especially when the driver tilts left to right. You also have some nice polish on your game, like the confetti coming out when you go through posts, usually that kind of thing in jams isn't reached as it comes last. Hopefully you can give me some guidance, but I can't make the second jump on the first level, a tip would be helpful.
