Slovakia, 1993. A company director is dead.
On paper, he was the man in charge. In reality, he may have been only a name used to hide the people who actually controlled the company.
In Slovak and Czech, there is an expression for a person used this way: biely kôň / bílý kůň — literally “white horse.” In English, the closest useful meaning is a front man, dummy owner or straw man.
That expression became the central mystery behind Wild East: The Straw Man.

You play reporter Marek Varga. Your investigation begins with a damaged message on an answering machine and leads through apartments, a newsroom and Bratislava’s Pentagon housing complex. You question witnesses, examine documents and solve inventory puzzles while another journalist follows a connected case in Prague.
I grew up with classic point-and-click adventures, but I wanted to build one around a place, period and kind of crime that games rarely explore.
