Small Update/Patch Notes for v0.7

Bug fixes

  • Camera now stops when the game is over
  • Teranks will no longer overload the screen with Junipers
  • Slightly scaled the size of the map (might have been too much)

Bugs that I was too lazy to fix

  • New enemy variant will swiss cheese yo ahh if you get too close 💔 (the enemy spawn radius needs to be limited)
  • Title screen looks absolutely jank
  • The balloon powerup indicator will detach itself from the player if you get 3 strikes while the indicator is still active

Updates

  • Added a new round counter system
  • Added a strike system, whenever you get hit by a bullet, you receive a strike
  • Added a new enemy variant (Randy, a slightly bigger black enemy)
  • Randy shoots red bullets every 5 seconds that will kill you if you get 3 strikes
  • Added secret spy mole rats that slowly eat away at your computer's memory to sabotage gameplay fps

MASSIVE Update (not really)/Patch Notes for v0.5 & v0.6

Bug Fixes

  1. The rotation of the camera is now being multiplied by the velocity of the player (meaning that you can turn the camera faster, the faster you move)

Bugs that I was too lazy to fix

  1.  Game over condition still doesn't work (womp womp)
  2. Teranks can overload the screen with Junipers and make the game unplayable

Updates

  1. Added 4 new enemy variants (Timothy, Robert, Terank, and Juniper)
  • Timothy's (big white enemy) sole purpose is to annoy you; he randomly meows every 1-7 seconds and is very fat and stupid. Fortunately, he can't pick up power-ups.
  • Robert (slightly smaller green enemy) is a menace to society. He loves to bite at you in an attempt to knock you off, but his efforts are not world-changing because of his small mass. He can't pick up power-ups either.
  • Terank (THE BIG RED ONE) is so fat that he can barely move. His eyebrows are bushier than a tropical jungle. Fortunately for him, he's found an alternative to attack. He spawns small armies of enemies to bite at you! He can't take power-ups either.
  • Juniper (small grey enemy) is Terank's minion. Now don't be fooled by his small appearance,  he is  8 kilograms! He won't budge one bit even with a power! He can't pick up power-ups.

  1.  The game over condition for being soft locked by enemies still doesn't work all the time

  1.  New power-up seeking enemy called "Kyle".  Kyle (purplish enemy) is smarter than the regular enemy, as he attempts to seek power-ups before attacking the player. He is much stronger and faster than the regular enemy, Kyle is worth 2 points if knocked off and still 3 points if knocked off with a power-up
  2. Regular enemies are now slightly debuffed

Bug Fixes

  1. Enemies and power-ups no longer spawn when the game is over
  2.  Added a game over condition if soft locked by enemies
  3.  You can no longer get power-ups when you still have a power-up active

  2. Game over condition for soft locked by enemies sometimes doesn't work

  1.  Implemented scoring (enemies falling off and collecting power-ups are worth 1 point, hitting enemies with a power-up enabled is 3 points, and being hit with an enemy that has a power-up enabled is -5 points)
  2.  New SFX for losing with a high score less than or equal to 5 and greater than or equal to 25
  3. Gave enemies power-up indicators

Small Update / Patch Notes v0.2

Bug Fixes

  1.  Fixed the player from moving in the Start screen
  2. Enemies now don't cry when the player is eliminated (falls off the screen)

Bugs that I was too lazy to fix + Things to add

  1.  Enemies and power-ups still spawn when the game is over
  2.  Need to add a power-up indicator for enemies when power-ups are picked up
  3. Need to add a game over condition if soft locked by enemies
  4. Turn speed is still significantly slow, even though I've playtested this multiple times already (in Unity, both enemies and the player are faster, but in the game, the enemies are slower)
  5. Power-up timers don't reset when you grab another power-up while you have a power-up already active.
