i started to REALLY like this game, i'm a fan of the entire collection of games that Kultisti made, including the ones that aren't my type
the game started off great with it's silly little story of the duke of dices and the dice creature
can't forget about the dice puzzles, they're the staple of the game too, slowly introducing new types of dices for you to use and
the second chapter expands on this idea too using the dice combination feature, possibly increasing the solutions potential and ways to make puzzles
...but then i saw that there was a timer and i ended up failing at the last level because of time pressure, resulting in a ragequit and dropping my personal review score to a 5/10
majority of Kultisti's puzzle games don't have a timer to begin with, so it feels all weird and frustrating to me, why the timer to begin with? there were so many ways the roguelike levels could've went (depending on your unlocked combinations) and combining that with the timer really let me down

writing this review after uninstalling the game out of frustration
the base game was pretty fun, couldn't wait to try this game out for myself, it was exciting seeing other people play it
nightmare mode was.. fine, the "no checkpoints" is definitely the highlight here
now for the reason i quit... first kiln
of course it's intended to be a optional map for those that want an extra challenge, but here are some things i dislike about it (or hate in this case)
-the monster placement, specifically the one that appears from the hole you need to enter to progress the first kiln
-annoying maze section on the third part where you NEED to remember which hole to take and taking the wrong path can lead to the monster easily catching up to you or result in a huge time loss (remember the monster placed near the hole!)
the game is great imo, i don't hate it, it's just this little that swayed me away from it
