I just released a free point-and-click / visual novel called The Journey Back. It’s a story about family, the future of humanity and finding meaning after loss.

This game has been a training project for me for a long time. I tried basic programming exercises and other solutions that interested me. I was always interested about game making and I did some mini games and prototypes before. For some reason I missed to create a "whole" project, I've only complesed my mini games, but I really wanted to make a kind of "interactive art".

So I took on the writing, development and graphic design. It may have been beyond my abilities in some areas, but I see it as a very productive learning process in all respects. I’d really appreciate any feedback or thoughts! https://davidbarta.itch.io/the-journey-back

Also, I’m sharing AI-generated backgrounds, concepts, and dev updates on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_journey_back_game

I like the UI and the graphics. It would be worth adding fall damage to the game. Also, I think the skeletons could react a bit faster. It's a great project, I wonder how it will develop.

The menu does not seem to work. it does not respond to any click or key. Maybe I did something wrong?

Yes, it's possible. :)
It's little bit tricky but not that hard as it seems. You should push the left arrow and the Z button at the same time. If it's gone to the red zone, keep down only the Z button till the spaceship tilts to the a safe angle back.

Thank you for your feedback! I will try your submission as soon as I can.
