Features already present in the game look pretty interesting so I look forward to whatever the demo leads to.

  • I would suggest decreasing the sprint speed since it bolts you across the map
  • Camera might require some work too since it moves around weirdly when you look at your character.

P.S. Fighting exploding chickens seems like an amazing idea if executed well enough.

It's a very nice effort since most of the stuff looks like it was built from scratch. The ricocheting bullets is a very nice touch and can make gameplay very interesting.

I suppose the game is currently unfinished but it looks promising enough to check it out later on. Some versus or survival mode would go well enough. I'd also fix the no boundary issue.

I like the procedural generation idea and it seems like something which is hard to implement. I like how the gameplay loop encourages you to time your turns perfectly to get better times on the lap.

However, I would suggest adding some obstacles or some sort of powerups (maybe a speedboost or holes in the ground) to keep the game interesting.

Some more sounds would also add a lot to the game.

Camera turning might need some work and can feel disorienting.

Overall, a good job and I liked trying to get better at my lap times.

Was an amazing experience. I love the art style and vibe of the game. Like being stuck in a very eerie fever dream. The sounds, music and dialogue come along very well.

I managed to complete it on my second try, although the game just closed when I interacted with the car while having all parts (don't know if intentional).

I don't think there's much room for improvement. Game is pretty good as is, other than some weird collisions with stairs. Don't know if the shaky texture effect is intentional but some people might be disoriented by it. For me, it added to the weird experience.

Good enough on the horror aspect if it made me jump on my seat: I turned around and saw the forest monster right next to me.

I like how it challenged me to play it again and again to see if I could reach higher upgrades. It is a simple, yet fun gameplay loop.

Some things I noticed while playing it:

  • The enemy health scaling does not reset after you retry. I have to reload the game to reset it.
  • In my first try I somehow managed to break the game: it started lagging and losing fps until I could barely see movement (might be due to too many enemy spawns)

Some suggestions:

  • The orbital upgrade seems to be not that useful compared to other upgrades. An increased damage or insta-kill would encourage the player to time the orbits onto enemies more allowing for more strategizing.
  • Probably has already pointed out but scaling is way too hard and progressing beyond two upgrades is really hard.
  • Making enemies less spongy but increasing the amount of enemies you need to kill is more satisfying, since shooting 40 bullets into one enemy gets tiring.
  • Some sounds would add a lot more juice

Overall, I weirdly like the simplistic design and enemy variety. The upgrades are interesting enough to encourage the player to get better at it. Keep cooking.

I've been trying to figure this out. My editor doesn't allow me to make mac builds for some reason (even though I have the mac module).

Will let you know if I manage to do it.

Thank you. I really appreciate the very comprehensive review.

I am aware the game is currently sort of in a half-baked state due to time constraints (I bit off more than I could chew). Sorry if it confused you. I have already fixed some things you pointed out.

  • You can hide now in multiple places (including the bed)
  • The zombie doesn't clip through doors (not sure about walls).
  • You can actually evade him now (sorry) by hiding or trapping him between doors.
  • The house area is bounded now
  • The game size is fixed
  • The stalker sounds are 3D now.
  • and some other small things.
