I just released Alilan classic, a small retro DOS platformer I originally coded back in 1997 as a teenager and brought back in 2025. I thought some of you might enjoy a little 90s chaos. 💾
What is it?
- 17 short, increasingly mean levels
- collect diamonds and find the exit
- avoid swamps that happily swallow you
- run from a very angry rolling Martian
- pure 90s DOS feeling, no shaders, no achievements – just simple arcade-style platforming
Platforms & how it runs:
- original DOS game bundled with **DOSBox-X**
- launchers for Windows, macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon) and Linux
- just extract the ZIP and start the launcher for your system
Language note:
All in-game text is in German, like in the original 1997 release, but the game is very simple and mostly visual, so you can still play it without knowing German.
