I think if you had to choose a difficulty, it's better to make it relatively easy so most people who play the game can clear it. However, if you wanted to give a challenge for hardcore players, you can add an option to select the difficulty in the future :)

Currently I don't have any plans to update this project mostly because I've been working on a different game, but another reason is because I couldn't think of a way to expand this into an actual game.
The biggest problem for me was the balance issue of the game not getting any harder towards the end, but rather getting easier as you get to place more towers to hit.
It was ironic to see the game being the hardest to play in the initial stage of the game.
I could choose to simply buff the enemies' health, but that didn't seem like a good enough solution to me and I wasn't able to think of a way to solve it, so I kind of lost hope on the game's mechanic of having to hit a tower with the ball to activate it.
