What is the difference between this one and the other Shadow Hand game?

unfortunately I do not have enough irl friends to play this… it looks super fun though!

wait how do we exit the game and escape? I lost my progress when I tried to close the program. (I can’t switch to other apps when it takes up full screen)  edit: figured it out but I just passed out after talking with the story teller and can’t find Molamola anymore even after checking the beach (they don’t mention where companions go anyway when dismissed in the guide)… I may just restart with story mode because the mechanics of this are confusing.

Hello, I just cleared the goblin dungeon, (I think? I went past the door and when I got to the portal I only saw an option to leave). How should I proceed? I love the art style by the way and the subtle exposition/dropping of lore. However some of what is explained in the summary is not explained in game; a prologue could fix that.

The bar NPCs are amusing, would be fun if some of them changed over time/Chekov’s gun (the ‘shady’ Guy and the other cleric? Who’s suspicious of him, the drunk adventurer leaving vomit… though the latter blocked the exit for a bit for me).

I do think some things should have more tutorials such as controls (ie shift to run) and fighting (I’ve accidentally skipped turns pressing the right arrow key which can be frustrating). I also wish there was an option to skip the time consuming fighting animations— I do like them but they become tedious after a while. It would also be great if we could actually see enemies HP since I wasn’t sure how to scale my attacks in the beginning.

I can't seem to sell stuff in the city. Do certain merchants only buy certain things? I tried to sell stuff and ended up trashing it by accident (a confirm button for that would be nice). I also got a bit lost/confused in my first playthrough because I forgot the innkeeper said to go straight east and it wasn't noted down in the quest description. Also, some options highlight what stat they use while others don't (I know of course this could mirror actual ttrpg experience but it feels inconsistent). You can't always try another option either when interacting with random NPCs on your travels. Also, I got negative karma for robbing a bandit, which is a little confusing. What's the difference between robbing and attacking? I'll try playing again a bit later but for now I can't seem to get into the grove. The interface, aesthetic, and art style are all very pretty though.

I can’t see a download link either on the main/store page.

Is this bundle live/has been released?

the toyhouse page/link doesn't seem to be working anymore

it is definitely a prototype but i appreciate the source code being open and available to the public, especially if someone wants to flesh this out a bit more.

an interesting concept with cute art but not really a game. if some aspects were expanded like the fostering and adopting process + more details and randomization for the cats it would probably be more enjoyable. like other said more of a box filling up simulator. it's also a bit annoying you can't name the cats and can also see the name once they are adopted. i'd like an art book of all the cat designs though :).

the price makes sense when you consider the size and detail of this game, from the mini animations to the numerous sprites. $20 is fair price for it. However, some of the sprites look as if they have different artists/styles. I prefer the main cast's avatars to the MC and side characters. There are also some glitches, ie wrong portrait appearing for dialogue, and the tutorial doesn't do a good job of explaining how to balance supplies (because not all stations will have a refill station for your tank, something that can cause you to be stranded in space). I also don't think it's ever explicitly mentioned what the 'dice' bar is (your ships parts). Still, it opens up with a ze/zim corgi so you have to say something for that! Wish there were more cut scenes and dialogue options or relationship bar for the crew, but for it's definitely worth it considering the heavy sale going on right now.

Recommended :)

I like the prompts and how this game has more of, well, a game play aspect than the other ones I reviewed. I think this game would benefit from some tables, though. Maybe one to generate allies, or even Marianne and the Mercenary Commander himself. Some more prompts could also be fun, specifically for number cards, not just face cards. This isn't directly related to gameplay but it does make me wonder what it's meant by 'town where secrets bloom'. I think a little more set up would be cool!

I'd probably add that this is a one-page rpg. I like the idea of splitting the game into acts but there isn't enough build up to the world, character, blade, or king to make the actions feel meaningful.

Is there another update on progress for the bundle?

hello, just wanted to let you know this is labeled as a game not physical game

FYI this game is categorized as a game not physical game :0 if you want to correct that

should this be labeled physical game?

Just wanted to let you know this should probably be categorized under physical games not games :)

how many players are needed?

the prompt for the World reversed is missing too

Extremely cute art, the font also matches the almost fairytale atmosphere. What are the conditions to the game’s end? When the story deck runs out? Or when your fatigue bar is full (and you choose to make your journal entry then your last)

thank you! The description from Google translate already sounds super cool/interesting.

I can see it now, thanks!

oh, I’m talking about the All Games Sale that is still being held. I have the other ones but not this one. But I don’t mind buying this one separately! I am very interested in your games and want to try playing them soon when life stops hitting me with a hammer haha (I did get the chance to play the walls that keep on growing but had to put it on pause, hope to resume it soon/when writing itch is back for that story)

is there an English version of this?

I printed it out and trimmed it but I was wondering if single format could be added. As it is the formatting of the spreads means I couldn’t print them double sided and now have a lot of blank space. Or is this format reserved for buying a physical zine/copy?

beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing them

hello, the video on the page says not available

hello, I bought your all games bundle but it seems games you add after I purchased it aren’t included just to let you know :) I don’t mind paying for them as there is still a sale and to support but just fyi

hello, I hope to have more time and spoons later this week and I’ll go more in depth haha

thank you for your quick reply! It’s nice to see creators who keep an eye on their projects. There were a few prompts I wanted clarification on (7 diamonds, 10 diamonds, 10 hearts, 8 clubs, 7 spades) but I’d have to re read the prompts to later to tell you what specifically I was confused about, these are just all the prompts I wrote in my notebook to ask about. (And I just finished a play through yesterday by the way :) I never knew if for wretched and alone games it played like jenga or not, I stack the blocks I pull on top and keep the top three layers out of touch though)

I got this in the No ICE bundle! But I was also looking at the wretched and alone jam haha, and it caught my eye.

I’m excited for that creator’s works, hats off to them!

TB made me recall something interesting… my uncle recently got hospitalized and apparently he may have gotten it in the past? I don’t know, I’ll have to ask again because I am curious. (They’re immigrants but I don’t know if they got the vaccine here/when they did). Anyway, I think the way oppressions intersect is why I love the term kyriarchy so much haha. But I’m sure your experience was still rough and I am very grateful you shared with us.

Being unhealthy or ill is not a moral failing, god. It runs along the same line as beauty does not equate goodness. Also, Dr. Oz is still kicking? And in politics? Jesus that quack was bad enough before.

By the way, I thought an interesting addition to diseases would be hypertension and/or chronic kidney disease(possibly as a result of hypertension), seeing how most adults in the US deal with high blood pressure.

There are some interesting articles I will try to find the link to. One of them is the prevalence of Hep B in the Asian American community, especially among recent immigrants. Focus specifically on China for this though, I was watching this on the Chinese news network in the US lol; it was a Stanford doctor and son duo so that should limit results.

Health standards were not as high back then in China, sharing needles limited medicine; although I know countries like the Philippines are marked as TB risk (iirc) I don’t think people realize how poor China was and how quickly it rose, so it comes as a surprise to hear about living conditions and how poor they were from people only around 50-60 years old. Most Chinese immigrants nowadays tend to be older too. Anyway, they may have gotten exposed to Hep B and if untreated it can turn into cancer. With language barriers lack of funds finances etc there have been many cases of people coming in too late. That’s the funny thing about ‘preventable’ diseases, it can range from ‘carelessness’ (although no one should get cancer) to compounding factors that serve as barriers to marginalized groups (equality vs equity, etc).

That was a bit of a ramble, haha. I hope that’s ok.

Ah got it, just because one of the special events mention agent xyz giving a helpful item  :) also it says how much I know about tarot that I didn’t realize major arcana had numbers associated with them, thanks for that! 😅

I can’t seem to open the page for the base game psalm last war, it says it’s locked

I’m curious, did they ever share the project they were making? Or did you end up including prompts? By the way this all hits really hard as someone with family with ‘preventable diseases’; I would love to chat if possible about intersections of disease too, like disease and race. (For instance less than 1% of grants go to researching AAPI health issues; higher prevalence of AIDS within black communities, etc).

got it, thanks! :) can't wait to retry this weekend

(1 edit)

when do items come into play? oh, and when you draw major arcana, do you get sent to a new day or does the event happen on the same day?

the printing format of this is a bit off, it doesn't fill up the whole letter size space (it's 11.65 x 8.27 in landscape versus standard 11 x 8.5) when I printed it out. I was wondering if this could be fixed or if there could be another document for single pages only?

i got the 'right' refrain first try, i suppose i should be 'proud'? haha. very cool concept though

Is this a solo game?

Quick but entertaining run! :) I didn’t necessarily get high rolls but the cards I got were good thankfully. However, I was over half way close to pissing myself so haha. I love the lay out of this and would be super interested in other games in this format. I was wondering if you allowed hacks of your game? Either way, very entertaining game, thank you for sharing!

got it! :D if I manage to get around to it I will definitely share 😅❤️
