Hello!

If you are a 2D or 3D artist who loves MMOs, intense boss mechanics, and cooperative gaming, let's build something cool together.

Extreme Raid Progression is a top-down, co-op "raiding" game, heavily inspired by high-end MMO raid encounters. (I am a  XIV player, currently enjoying Kefka prog, if you know what I mean.)

The game is currently a fully functional, early-stage prototype. The core systems are already built, and there is a playable version available right now on the project page, featuring a few tutorials and several boss encounters.

The immediate focus is to establish a cohesive visual identity, and create the foundations of visual systems. Next - build out a roster of challenging encounters with appealing visuals and "marketable" moments, and push toward a Steam release. If the game finds its audience, the long-term plan is to transition into a continuous update mode.

Right now, all visuals are placeholder art and free assets.

  • My current vision: 2D/pixel art for the players and environment; 3D models for the bosses, to easier build attack and movement animations at different angles.
  • Your influence: This isn't set in stone. If you have a different visual style or a fresh creative direction that fits the gameplay, I am completely open to it.

I need an artist who is passionate about the raiding genre and wants to define the look and feel of this world from the ground up. You will have your say in the game's identity, aesthetic, and presentation.

If this sounds like a project you'd love to breathe life into, check out the prototype on the project page and reach out.

You can DM me on discord with any questions: creeepling.

Hello!

I am looking for a 2D Pixel Artist to create character sprites and environment tilesets/decorations for a roguelite ARPG.

This is a passion project I have been working on during the lockdown, and you can find a playable demo right here

The class & spell systems have been the focus of the work so far. Everything else (infinite labyrinth with multiple zones, basic enemies, basic events, a single boss) is in earliest pre-alpha states.

Below you can find a small infographic which describes the game in its current state, and some of the future plans.

That infographic doesn't have a "story" section, however - that part is currently up in the air, as I am focusing on core gameplay mechanics.

If you are interested - hit me up, here, or on Discord @Creeepling#4338 or on email creeepling@gmail.com . There are multiple roles open, the full list is at the bottom of the infographic. If you can fill one of them, and you love rogulikes or class-based games - I'd be happy to work with you!

That's the thing! Remove them from the update method, because it's called every frame, that's why you're getting so many calls.

Call them once in the Start method, and you should be fine.

Hi Loki! I don't think it's an issue for me. Do any of your async calls, by any chance, happen in the Update script, or are triggered by it in some way?

Haha, I'm glad it helped. Hit me up if you have any other questions, I'll gladly help if I can!

Hi! I was wondering, what did you use to power server-based multiplayer in No Man Alone?

Hi! What are you using to support multiplayer in this game?

Heya! Thanks for checking the game out, and leaving your feedback :)

Yeah, this is an early prototype, so I haven't worked on sounds or character animations yet. New character sprites and 8-frame animations coming soon :)

Haha, great job with treasure hunting! That is about the number of endings there currently is. I am currently working on a feature that will let the player branch the story at any point in time, so there are more things to come :)
