I totally forgot about that element involving the payment processors. If I remember correctly, the same activist groups that rallied to payment processors about NSFW content also tried to have LGBTQ+ stuff banned from media as well under the guise of 'protecting children'. It's scary how much censorship, bigotry, and oppression can be achieved under the false claim that it's all for the kids, or for some greater moral purpose.

Of course, the payment processors only responded and tried to have platforms ban NSFW to appease stockholders, and to continue making money. The largest issues are the fake activist groups using fake excuses to censor/ban things, and the corporations/politicians that capitulate.

If I remember correctly, Hitler also used the excuse of 'protecting the kids' for a few of the heinous actions he committed; even saying that if you want to easily get things censored or banned, then use the excuse that it is for a religion or for the kids because appealing to emotion is easier than appealing to logic. Scary stuff.

The game is basically the same thing as Captivity, without much of a difference. The only stage has 4 different enemies, there are achievements to do, you can mod the game or make your own levels/entities in the editor to make your own mods, you can activate cheats, etc.

The game looks decently good, the scenes are as good or better than what are in Captivity, since each monster has 2 or 3 different scenes for when they catch you (which is part of the reason why it's such a shame it is canceled).

Aishteru (made by lxust_r_o_s_e) is another one. It's inspired by Captivity (with some references to it) and has very good scenes that are on par, if not better, than this game. However, it has far less content, only having a single stage, because it was canceled.

The NSFW stuff in the game is locked. To unlock it, follow the instructions in the comments of the Aishteru Itch page.

Condemed (made by Dos Arracachas) is another one. It's still in development, to my knowledge, and you can also find it on Itch.

The devs for Aishteru basically hid all the NSFW content, so if you download the game, you won't be able to see any of the good stuff unless you do very specific things in the files.

I recently posted a comment on the game's itch page for anyone who needs help, since I had a hard time figuring out how to unlock the stuff when I first tried by myself. I recommend it; the scenes are actually pretty good.

For anyone who wants to know how to access the NSFW stuff in this game, here is a guide. If you want to, you can delete and reinstall the entire thing (game) to have a blank slate for doing this:

Go into the game files and locate the folder called Aishteru_Data. Within this folder, there will already be a folder named 'debug'. Delete it. Then make a new folder inside of Aishteru_Data called 'debug'. Open this new folder and create a text document called 'debug'. Within this basic text document, type the word 'optimus'. If you want to, within the text document, hit file, then save the document after typing down 'optimus'.

Everything is lowercase. No periods needed.

The image attached shows what you need to do. The file location and where everything is located are underlined in blue. The notepad shows the text document.

You will immediately know if you were successful because, upon opening the game, you should see some NSFW stuff that wasn't there before. Hope this helps anyone who needs it.

I just found another game inspired by this one called Aishteru. The game isn't as large as this one, but I'd argue some of the scenes are better than the ones in this game (overall I'd still say Captivity is better from a gameplay standpoint and for having far more content). It also seems very modable, even having an editor where you can create maps and stuff. 

Unfortunately, it seems that it has also been canceled (seemingly by when itch.io came after NSFW for a while).

Seriously, I just now found this for the first time, and it's pretty great. Such a shame that it seems to have been abandoned. I wish there were more maps and enemies. Plus, I cannot find any link to a Discord server as mentioned in the lower comments

that’s how I was able to get it. It’s easier than it sounds. If it doesn’t work the first time, then try making sure that you did the text document thing correctly.

you’ll know if it worked because upon opening the game you’ll immediately see NSFW stuff and a reference to the MC in Captivity.

when I first played I was a bit confused too, but all I had to do was walk over to the white dresser in the starting area, and after a bit of searching I found where I could alter my characters skin tone.

If I had coding skills, I'd totally ask for permission to be able to expand on it (starting with fixing the messy code and bugs) to add more content, since the developer has left the project for the time being. Would probably ask for suggestions on what to add via the Discord server too.

Unfortunately, I do not have coding skills.

It would also be nice if someone could tell me how to get the experiment where I need to dash through 50 energy blasts. Do they all need to be from separate squoids? I did it from the same 3 squoids for a while, but never got the achievement.

I played on Windows, and I also tried it on browser. Neither worked. When I played on Windows, I downloaded the game, unzipped the file, and played the game. When I realized their was no sound, I also tinkered with the volume settings in game, and on my computer but it didn't work. I tried it on versions 2.0, the browser version, and the latest one as well.

This has only happened once before, but I'm not sure what the issue was. I've downloaded and played tons of itch.io (and other) games (of varying genre's) and not had this issue.

Since no one else seems to be saying anything about no sound, I assume it's a 'me' problem instead of any issue with the game though.

I wanna make it clear that I still enjoyed this game and think it's good.

Good game, I really love pixel art/animation. For some reason I don't have any sound though even though the game volume says 100% in the pause menu. I'm not sure if it's myself or the game, but any tips would be appreciated.
