Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the game! We made all the art ourselves and actually focused on sprites a bit too much--we had very little time to do level design after spending a lot of time making art, lol.

Yeah, I think that would give the player more of a sense of urgency while underwater!

oh my GOSH. I just checked the top of the least voted game list to see if I could play some of the more obscure entries, and I discovered this absolute GEM. My mind was BLOWN when I opened it in the terminal and I was greeted with an entire 3D environment! The gameplay loop and movement is super difficult to learn but once it clicks... man, what a treat! Hunting down the ships was such a stressful but fun experience! upping my throttle to move forward, strafing to avoid the black hole, all while double checking the navigation terminal every few seconds to make sure I was still on the right course. Loved the space fm easter eggs as well as the quasar (which was pretty wild to discover). Ended up successfully rescuing one ship before overshooting a second one by a mile and not having the fuel to recover, but this game was such an amazing experience. Definitely my favorite one out of all the games I've played so far. Only issue i had was that my mouse wouldn't wrap back around when moving to the left side of the terminal window, but with how much fun this game is and how insanely difficult this must have been to set it all up in the terminal, that little annoyance can easily be looked over. Great job.

I ADORE the concept of this game. One of the coolest in the entire jam so far for me. Ended up dying on day 3 cause no food was spawning, but still had a ton of fun. The falling hazards added a lot of necessary risk/reward to sleeping, which was probably my favorite mechanic. The building was rudimentary and my creations would often fall apart during my sleep, but it was so thrilling to wonder if my fridge-dresser abomination was still going to protect me while I was in the forced minimum sleep time. Amazing job, such a great game.

Managed to get to around 584. Pretty fun gameplay loop! The double jump adds a LOT to the feel of the movement and the control.

Really fun! Short, but has a lot of charm and character. That dialogue at the beginning caught me off guard and gave me a good laugh.

Really cool idea! Having the music speed up is a novel concept!

I ended up getting the alternate ending. This game was beautiful! Sound and visuals worked together perfectly to make a really chill atmosphere. I especially liked the fish. They gave me a chuckle with their goofy mouths.

Love the darkness and ambiance; walls feel really good to avoid. It was a bit tricky to understand what was going on, since there's quite little visual or audio feedback for things like taking damage or moving besides the bubbles. The moaning was also quite immersion breaking to say the least, but other than that a pretty awesome concept!

I love the concept here, but it could maybe use some danger besides the oxygen tank like enemies or obstacles. You nailed the aesthetic, though! The shaders that snap the shadow to two colors look amazing and the topology on the sonar is incredible!

A lot of grind, but the fishing was super satisfying with the screen shake and the art is really good!

Fun game! The gameplay is pretty easy and quite repetitive but it's really satisfying to play.

This concept is awesome!! The Z and X controls sort of threw me off but I did end up getting through the level. Love how the music changes between each color!

Pretty cool! The main character looks really neat and I'm a huge fan of the other creature designs!

Super fun! The physics are really clean and the level design is great. Amazing how you managed to make the levels novel both on the downward and upward trip. The upwards fling was a bit spotty as to whether it fired or not for me at times, but didn't hurt my enjoyment too much. Gameplay was super addicting. Got REALLY frustrated at times when I was struggling with a specific part, but that motivated me to keep going at it. Only ended up passing level 3 in the end, but still really enjoyed my time with it. Great game!

Really cool vibes! The platforming could have used some quality-of-life features like coyote time and jump buffering, but the story and gradual degradation as you go through the game was really cool.

Neat game! Managed to get a 900 on easy mode and 230 on hard. Controls were a bit difficult to understand since seemingly tapping the directional buttons gives you much more velocity than holding them. Could also really benefit from some look-ahead so that the player can see what's coming up a little better. Still really fun, though, especially when you get going really fast and the screen zooms way out.  Great job!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)

This one is AWESOME! The art was beautiful and the gameplay was super fun and addicting. Felt so good to level up all my troops to the maximum and decimate the enemies. Great job!!

Fun game! Didn't get all the way to the end, but I got pretty far. The levels were really creative! Had a few issues with not being able to see obstacles after entering a new room though. It might be worth it to expand the room entrance length a bit so you have time to react to obstacles on the other side of a screen barrier after crossing through.

Pretty fun! Really like the concept, but I found the act of finding the fish a bit confusing. Some only spawn deeper down, but i found myself trying to find them by moving horizontally at the beginning, since there was no indication that I would have to go deeper and when i did try to move down, there weren't any background objects to give me a sense of downward movement, so it felt like I was staying still despite holding the down key. Still had a fun time with this one though!

Thanks! I did all the music in order to try to improve at it, and all 3 of the level themes have a melody/progression in common, though the third one is a bit harder to catch. Glad you enjoyed!

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the feedback! Ill definitely consider this stuff for the next game I make!

Thanks! I don't expect to get very high in the rankings, but it was fun to make!

Thanks!

Really fun, and I'm not usually a fan of city-building games!
The 3 storm variations really add to the uncertainty of wondering whether or not you'll survive, was kind of hard to put this one down!

everything about this is awesome, best game from this jam I've seen so far!

your game is bugged through the roof i cant press the start button broski

fr tho after playing this i'm not friends with you anymore you cant just juke my dash like that

I wanted to add some sort of upgrade system but underestimated how rough the time crunch would be xD

Jump feels really floaty (maybe try increasing the gravity next time?) but really fun to play! the coins definitely enticed me to the point where I died because of my greed a few times :P

Really nice game, Beautiful art! One thing that would've been nice is the ability to move during the bullet hell segments in battle, would have added some more interest to fighting.

actively cracking up the entire time, Incredible interpretation of the theme

AWESOME GAME!!
only criticism I have is that there isn't much contrast between the background and ground in some areas. That ending music slapped though

RIP falling enemy
you will be remembered

This came out really well! Thanks for letting me help with the art! :3

just a clarification: I actually made the cactus sprites and the tilemap for the game, but squid made everything else.
