YES I AM LITERALLY SO ECSTATIC OMG I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT RIGHT NOW I CAN'T BREATH
GOOD JOB ON RELEASING AN UPDATE! Don't you worry about the time it takes you to finish it <3
GOD BLESS!!!!!11 โคโคโค (ยดโฝ`สโกฦช)
Guys, this can't just be a demo, oh my God...! I knew it, but it's TOO PEAK TO BE SO SHORT ๏ฝกยฐ(ยฐยฏแทโ ยฏแท ยฐ)ยฐ๏ฝก
My heart has been captivated! The graphics are so beautiful that I found myself tracing/analysing every detail (DANG is Riven handsome)! I might go check out all your other works โง(^โ^)
But I'm truly speechless at the quality of the storytelling, the music, and everything else! As soon as you input a name, you're immediately transported into this universe. No need to even use the second person to facilitate immersion in the world; hats off!! (โงโโฆ)๏พ
Hehe, I might get even more attached to it over time. Man, I'm seriously starting to wonder how did I miss โกTHIS โก all this time!...
Please, I don't care if it costs a fortune or if I have to wait until 2045 for an update, I WILL GLADLY WAIT (ANXIOUSLY)/GIVE ALL MY (IMAGINARY) MONEY! โคโคโค
Oh my God, was seriously SO CUTE! I needed a story like this so badly and I thank God for making me discover this game (โฅ๏นโฅ)
Every few minutes, I had to take a break or I would succumb to the overwhelming sweetness and cosy atmosphere of the game >///<
First and foremost, Asher is the cutest guy ever! The messages exchanged with him are so entertaining to read, and he's just so fun to chat with! He's someone I could genuinely get along with.
This may sounds cheesy but Asher feels so pure and healing -- like the colour blue (I absolutely adore the symbolism as well).
I might play this a couple more times, hehe~ I'm gonna cherish this now <3
I so recommend this game, it's just so wholesome. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for bringing this to life โคโคโค
Well, it was mostly in Italy and the custom sort of spread into France and even England. Commedia dell'arte is also called comรฉdie italienne because it's just 'Italian comedy' and Pierrot is the French version of the name Pedrolino (though I do not think there are the same characters).
Basically, the actors might not even be Italians (performing in France). But commedia dell'arte is Italian and spread to have a French variant.
Aww that would actually be very nice o(^โฝ^)o
But I am not in the best financial situation to commission right now... And even if you did out of the kindness of your heart, I feel a litle embarassed to ask you ('' โขแท แด โขแท
)
Although, I really appreciate you offering; it makes me very happy (หถแต แต แตหถ)
Hehe it's a pleasure (. โโกโ)
Aww I'm sure they're special! But that's totally fine, no worries! It's okay if you want to keep your account private or something like that, I understand (ยด๏ฝกโข โก โข๏ฝก`) โก
I hope you continue drawing, and I can just look back on this one since I commented (หถโแตโหถ)
Take care, Kinder โง๏ฝกโ(แตแแต)โโง*๏ฝก

No but seriously- Your art has made my day. IT'S AMAZING!! PIERROT LOOKS SO PRECIOUS!! ๏ฝก๏พ(TใฎT) โก
I love how you drew the clothes โคโคโค and the keychain- ( หถยฐใ

Thanks for sharing; Tell me where I can follow you (หถหแหสโกฦช)
The connection with MC's bag and what was said on TV is meant for the reader to draw a connection between the circus and the disappearances. It's kinda obvious now about what's happening with pink tickets (we had a whole bad ending telling us what it was) so I don't see a need in explaining. It's also quite clever haha.
Aww making OCs is great! But you are right about the eye colours... I have noticed this but never really thought about it. Most of them match with their outfit but Pierrot's is different from the start: it's supposed to be white but Neko decided to make it red, and the colour red is also for MC's name and sometimes for Doctor so I'm guessing to avoid confusion, it is yellow. I think it's mosly about design purposes and I can't see why it would hide a meaning... It's a pretty and fitting colour if I do say so myself. In fact, Neko has said that Pierrot's attire was actually different in the story but then it had to be changed.
Thanks for bringing this up! And do not worry about your English; you type pretty well ^^ (Hi fellow European!)
Oh my God...! I feel like I just had an epiphany with your theory. I'm taking your interpretation (if you don't mind and not as my own of course) to further understand the story and its characters; it might as well be true! Allow me to share:
In the commedia dell'arte, Columbine chose Harlequin over Pierrot, but in this story, Columbina chose Pierrot. The role of Columbine is a soubrette which is not exactly what Columbina was portrayed -- more of an ingรฉnue. I thought that Neko just decided to go on with his story and not follow exactly the stock character, but it does make sense: Colombina has chosen Harlequin in the end for she has turned to him for protection (despite rejecting him all this time). Thus, she probably didn't love Pierrot for what he is but mostly for the attention, gifts, and protection he was offering... And so it was easy for him to get replaced: all she cared about was to live, not him...
That is just insane because then it would make Pierrot's character more tragic (as it already was), defend Harlequin's actions (just a little since it explains why the rest were not so fond of her/why it was so easy for them to be okay with her death -- she was exploiting Pierrot and lead him to agony), and tell more about Columbina's true character. Not even a monster could love Pierrot... This is of course just a theory and personal speculations. Thank you for sharing this with us @Princess Spooky Suki! KUDOS โค
Omg the reference to the broken mirror- Buddy you're onto something ๐ญ๐ But I believe it's mostly how the members of the circus were despised since they're "freaks," like what happened with Pierrot at the beginning of the story. "Abominations! Get out of our town! FREAKS!" I don't think there is any sort of connection to Harlequin, but... I like that idea!
We know the story of Colombina's death but I feel like Harlequin's motive has not been crystal clear. The only thing that has changed in the three different versions of the retelling was why Harlequin killed Colombina. Did he just did out of hunger or even a desire to feed Pierrot and the rest? Or perhaps did he want to save Colombina? Or was it just because he was envious? It's too vague and it's really bugging me... Does he even regret his actions?! I refuse to believe that he's just completely evil, but he does not show any signs of remorse for that crime. At the same time, the role of Arlecchino is supposed to be multifaceted.
Your analysis on the tragic event is very great, I must say, such as the remark about the ellipsis; I also thought of the same thing. The numerous mention of Harlequin being poisonous feels more like an actual fact than a metaphor at this point๐
But at the same time... Colombina has explicitly said that she did NOT want to die -- it wasn't an option -- so for her to thank Harlequin for killing her is practically agreeing that death will somehow grant her protection... Let us also remember that she thanked him BEFORE he killed her, as if she he must have thought he got out of the cage to protect her but instead: attacked her. I also wanna point out that Jester had absolutely no problem with Colombina being sacrificed.
Yes so Harlequin does not feel JEALOUS but rather ENVIOUS, please remember that since it's very easy to confuse (even for me) and that would misinterpret Harlequin's whole character๐
If it was JEALOUSY, it will mean that Harlequin loves Colombina and hates Pierrot because of that, but it's not the case*: It's ENVY as mentionned in the story: "...Who saw the light in the lover's eyes and felt envy gnawing [at] him from within." Harlequin felt envious of Pierrot since he didn't have what Pierrot did (i.e. Colombina's love and attention). He just couldn't sit with the reality that someone was happier and better than him so he wanted to take what Pierrot had. *He didn't care about Pierrot (for killing his love) nor Colombina (for killing her), he just wanted to have what he couldn't, and that made him happy to see that Pierrot is as miserable as him now. Harlequin is a pretty complex character for being Arlecchino. I wonder why is he so envious... Like leave my baby alone๐ญ
Oh and about why Pierrot is not allowed to speak, it's because he's Pierrot! His attire might have been modernised but his role remains unchanged. Pierrot is a mime and mimes are famously known to imitate without the use of speech. So Pierrot has to remain silent to fulfill his role; it's as simple as that! But I do wonder if perhaps there is something else below the surface on why he cannot... Or maybe we're overthinking this!
I DIDN'T SEE THE RED PANDA COMING ๐ญ๐โค
I love how you're going with this; it kinda makes sense! Harlequin is 100% a serpent; bro's got the tongue and most symbolisms (even sxual desire ๐).
But Colombina actually means 'little dove', FYI, which represents innocence, new beginnings (hum hum, sacrifice) monogamy/love (explains why she didn't want to be with Harlequin since she is already with Pierrot).
Ong bro, an ending with Pierrot is a need!! ๐ญ๐
But you're right; it's just that, when I think of the outcome of the story like "How could we actually make the relationship work," I kind of get lost and I fear it'll just be false hope in a way. I am very curious to see how the story will unfold, though, and hope that we will get at least a good ending <3
Oooh ok ok, I see what you mean. That's kind of the whole thing: we (MC) might be fated to die in a way since we have huge links with Colombina; "Our fate are cursed," as she says. We could die from the other members since we know too much or from Harlequin. Except, with how heartbroken Pierrot was (and obviously still is), he WON'T let that happen again, and I fear he's gonna sacrifice himself or something for us... It would just be a tragedy ๐ญImagine if Pierrot ends up killing us instead-
But if that is really the case, it would be incredibly sad and kinda weird for it to be the ending... Like how will the story progress if we don't have the MC's perspecive? And that would be such an unsatisfying (final/bad) ending.
Well, he is showing his way of 'love'... Like, it's not like I am sick in the head or something for finding that love; that's the 'romance' in this whole thing. You literally can't say anything because you're on this page as well, and Harlequin is a BIGGER red flag and he's green- Just for your information, I would honestly never find that attractive in real life ๐ญ
Thanks for still telling me he's a red flag I guess
I agree, "after all, it's a game". Did Pierrot really harassed us? We simply helped him, which made him get interested in us, and he's showing his 'love' in his own ways: inviting us to see his performance, visiting us in our work and home, etc. These stories only work because the reader has already given full consent by reading the story. Of course, we all know that in real life, it would not be as good -- I know from experience.
Look, if you do not like it, you do not need to continue supporting it or whatever. It's okay to not like something, and I do not mean this in any harm: if you simply don't like it, you are free to continue on with your life. There are numerous other games/stories out there that could be more 'scary,' and "falling in love with your stalker/kidnapper" has been a trope for centuries (e.g. Beauty and the Beast); it ties with Stockholm Syndrome and bad boy "I can fix him". I've seen stories that were way more toxic and abusive using this trope (did not enjoy them tbh) and really love the dynamic of Pierrot's character. This is actually well written, whether you agree or not.
Haha yes!! If you don't eat anything and accept to see Pierrot the next day (DAY 1), then follow Harlequin, and tell Pierrot to leave you alone when he comes to your room, Harlequin will come instead and there is an option to hug him.
I was so shocked like, how is that an option ๐ญ(it's not bad, but really wasn't expecting it.
