Oh okay, props to the work either way! 👍

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it. Any nitpick for the controls you might like to have seen improved?

Very good feedback points, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it and will be sure to let the team know!

So is this the 2D LOVE engine that you've rigged up to do 3D? That's pretty wild if so! Can't imagine that's easy.

Thanks a ton for the feedback and very happy you enjoyed it! We'll have to see what we can do about enemies flying off like that 😅

Just saying my thanks for creating a new game jam page! 👍

What are the errors?

(1 edit)
  • It's pretty neat, nice and simple.
  • I understand you call out the gameplay controls in the comments, but I'd still recommend including callouts for them in the game itself.
  • Neat concept where you get bigger as you take damage (ramps up difficulty the more you receive), but it also made me think (when I wasn't aware of the controls) that I was supposed to collect them due to preconceived gaming instincts.
  • Softer gunshot sound would be nice too with some slight pitch changes per shot to avoid monotony.
  • Great job using the assets from the Art Jam!
  • Didn't encounter any bugs.

Good work overall!

  • Nicely polished with at most some initial play stuttering
  • Easy to understand
  • Smooth and stable  and positional audio is reliable.
  • Simple level-based wave game.
  • Good instructions but there's a lot and some seem counter to actual experience (like the spawn point doesn't seem to be where you spawn once you pass the 1st level)
  • Character is quite speedy, it would be cool to focus on a slower exploration style that prioritizes the landmark memory.
  • Recommend a delay to mob spawning as it can be easy to immediately die to one when the level starts (due to your character moving so fast).
  • Solid start that I encourage exploring if you plan to keep working on it.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The win-state with the door is something we've heard a few time now so it's worth thinking on.
Difficulty scaling would certainly help as well, especially with just learning the game at first.

  • I like it! I'm definitely not good at identifying sounds like this. Could be that the sounds between the enemy and the gun should be closer in style.
  • Very stable game save for one bug I encountered where I died at the same time as winning and it puts me in an endless loop unless I refresh the website.
  • Tried both regular and noob mode. Probably would be better to just have noob mode on without scope. Was unclear how it worked when I did the regular mode first.
  • I certainly encourage you to explore the frequency-based combat. Maybe involve pickups or the environment.
