First, I download the mp3 audio files, then use some audio editting apps like Audacity, resample the SFX to 8000 Hz, filter in 100 - 5834 Hz range, crank the volume up to 8 - 9 dB, and finally export the sound as unsigned 8-bit wav file. That's how you convert SFX to 8-bit.

Notice: GB Studio's built-in emulator still make buzz sound so you have to export the game as ROM and play on another emulator.

I have made a patch on this page, you can check it out.

But if the bug still occurs, you can load the previous save, press Select button at the start of the cutscene (that's how I do when debugging) to skip it (you can skip most of the cutscenes in this game with Select). After that you get the Good Ending.

Weird, I fixed that bug sometimes ago.

But you can press Select at the start of the cutscene (0.5s window to do that) to skip it and still get the Good Ending.

You can try downloading the PC Wrapped file and set the key bindings from that app settings.

You need to check the settings by pressing Esc and reconfigure your keys binding. Press A (usually it's Z or X on the keyboard) and choose the difficulty, the game should run normally that way.

When using the plugin on a scene with automatic color, the palettes are messed up and dialogues become pitch black. How can I fix it while keeping automatic color?

I'm doing it right now. :3

Ok, I've made a hotfix, now you can try it.

Oh, I used the wrong variable to check that door. I will fix and update the game along with the big expansion in a next few days. It will have 2 more areas, (almost) all the original SFX, maps and overhauled save screen.

With a Game Boy-esque game, how about making a Game Boy port? You can make it with some GBDK or GB Studio. :3

It would take lots of effort to put 15+ hours gameplay into a GB game. XD

Thanks for the first comment ever in my project. :3

I was gonna demake SH2 after this project, but seeing the original dev coming back, maybe there's no need for it. XD

Is there a way to config key bindings? I had a difficult time trying to run with left Shift and shooting with mouse. :(

Looks so cool. Now there are two SH1 projects running in parallel. XD

But what room is this?

So you're making both SH3 and SH1 now? 💀

Holy, that map design is so good, much better than mine. Except that the color palette of your looks more like SH2 than SH1.

Up to now, I've finished the cafe and implemented the fog and darkness system (which is really important for a Silent Hill game). But after looking at your image, I think I will redesign the map to be bigger, or just keep it small like your SH2 Demake.

Wait, really? Are there any screenshots of it?

I beat the game and got the Rebirth ending (why?) and Dog ending. Aside from the 1 HP James and all kinds of bugs, it's still good.
I'm gonna make Silent Hill 1 in your style with advanced features (like fog and darkness like the original game), although there's already a demake on this website.

There is a bug with the hospital where I can't kill any enemies on the 3rd floor. Are there anyway to deal with it without changing version, as I'm hunting achievements on RetroAchievements.
