Thanks for giving our game a try.
Sorry about this issue, for some reason it would appear that the Desktop version of the game doesn’t like AMD cards.
I don’t why the Desktops build for these games seem to be so cooked on certain systems. I couldn’t for the life of me replicate the issue on my end for the last game. I think I might try to go back to an older version of Unity if I do another project.
Anyways, thanks for giving our game a try despite having to deal with these issues again.
Hey, thanks for trying our game! Sorry you had this issue. Just to make sure I understand, are you talking about when you’re inside the car at the start?
I haven’t been able to reproduce that issue on my end. If you’re playing the Web version, you’ll need to press P instead of Escape to stop inspecting and pause/unpasue, since the browser reserves the Escape key for unfocusing the tab.
Great game! I really loved the core gameplay concept, it’s a very cool and unique!
I did find it a bit difficult at times. The monster felt slightly too fast, and I think the balance could be improved if it couldn’t kill you in complete darkness. I often tried to get a sense of the environment, but would occasionally run straight into the monster without any warning.
Great work overall!
“Can’t wait to get home to my wife and kids.”
Wow, the sonar effect is so cool. I really loved just looking at it! The gameplay is very engaging, too. It’s incredibly stressful navigating the pitch black areas when you can only see for a few seconds at a time with the sonar.
I do wish the sonar lasted a bit longer. Also, some kind of UI or indicator to show when the sonar has recharged would be really helpful. I found myself spamming Q for most of the game.
It also took me a little while to realize that I needed to distract enemies using the coins.
Great work overall! There are some solid gameplay foundations here.
Ya, there isn’t much gameplay wise here. And no, there are no jumpscares, just a few fake outs. The ending was originally going to be a jumpscare, but it didn’t really turn out that way.
I’m not exactly sure which effect you’re referring to exactly, but we used an open source PSX shader package I built for the visual effects. I’ve linked it in the game description.
Thanks for taking the time to play!
“Thank you for playing”
Great game! It really captures the dread of being lost in space, and I loved it! I agree with others that the controls are a bit difficult and take some getting used to, but I don’t see that as a bad thing here. In fact, I believe it was intentional to help build tension, which I think was very effective. The ending was unexpected.
Great work!
“Final”
Neat game! I liked it, the jumpscares definitely got me. I do think it’s a little unclear how you’re supposed to know when the monster is nearby or what to do to avoid it. It seems like it has something to do with switching to the ocean view, but I’m not totally sure. I started doing that and never got killed again.
Anyhow, great work!
I can’t get out of the main menu. I know you said in a previous comment click the start button, but I don’t see a start button.
Edit: Never mind, I found the answer deeper in the thread. You just need to zoom in the browser a lot.
“We’ll see you in the next steps.”
Cool game! A little short, but still neat. I agree with others that the controls feel a bit awkward, especially the Space key binding. Great work overall!
Cool game! I really liked the monster design, it’s very creepy how it just stares at you. The cutscene at the start was really well shot.
I couldn’t finish the game, though, as I wasn’t able to figure out what to do after the fuse box. I spent quite a while looking around but couldn’t find anything to progress.
Other than that, this was a cool game. Great work!
Your friend very much did give me trouble.
Great game! It took me a couple of tries to get all the riddles, but I got there in the end.
Some small issue: when you enter a wrong answer, the textbox loses focus, which can be a bit annoying. Also, some of the pages are barely visible, making them difficult to find. It might be helpful to add a sound cue or some other feedback when you get a riddle correct.
Great game overall!
Who cooks pizza on the stove top.
Good game, very deep story, I really liked it!
I think instead of having to press Tab to see what to do, it would have been better to have a popup or some kind of on screen prompt. There were a few times where I wasn’t sure what to do next because I forgot to check again.
Also, during my first playthrough, I picked up the knife early and it ended up breaking the game.
Good work!
“You Won”
Fun game! The art was really well done, especially the player model and animations. The monster was also well designed.
I will say the third-person controller felt a bit off, but it was still usable. I also think the ending door was slightly hidden by the shadows, so it took me a while to notice it.
Great work!
Great game! You did a great job with the retro shader effects. The enemies were also really well done, and the jumpscare still got me even after I thought I’d gotten used to it.
The gameplay mechanic was really fun and well executed. I ended up figuring out a strategy where I’d wait for them to run into a corner, then make a beeline for the other room.
Good work!
