Rexclaw is a free, open-source AI companion app: real-time voice conversations with 3D anime companions (VRM avatars) that remember you between sessions, react with gestures and outfit/scene changes, and can generate images or search the web mid-conversation.
One of my favourite features: group calls — invite multiple companions into one call and they talk with you and each other, with proper turn-taking. Heavily inspired by Grok's companions, but open source and fully customizable — bring your own VRM models, animations, and personalities.
Now available as a standalone Windows app. Docker and source builds for other platforms. Note: it uses xAI's realtime voice API (along with responses API and grok imagine), so you'll need your own xAI API key.
