I had the same issue. After uploading my game for the first time, it wouldn't play in the browser. I just got the Unity logo and the progress bar that got stuck about half way. While I was looking through the console for errors (there were none), suddenly the game finished loading and I could play it. It took about 25 minutes before this happened. My game upload was around 200mb. Maybe itch.io was processing the zip file, and that took some time. In any case, what worked for me was to leave the browser session open and just wait. Hopefully this helps anyone else experiencing the same thing.
