Hi! I just released a small tool for people who make games in GDevelop and also use an AI assistant like Claude.

It's an MCP server (MCP is the standard way apps like Claude Desktop and Claude Code use outside tools). Once it's installed, your AI can work on the GDevelop 5 projects saved on your computer. You ask in plain words, like "add coins that disappear when the player touches them and add 10 to the score", and the AI can:

  • read the whole project: scenes, objects, behaviors, variables and events
  • look up GDevelop's real actions and conditions instead of guessing
  • add objects and write events
  • play-test the game in the background and get screenshots, positions, variable values and errors back
  • export an HTML5 zip that's ready for itch.io

It's careful with your project. Every change is checked against GDevelop's own rules before anything is written, so a typo like "Playr" is refused with "Did you mean: Player?" and the file isn't touched. It makes a backup before every change, undo is one step, and it only works inside the folders you choose. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Good to know:

  • $10 or more, and updates are free for buyers.
  • Tested on Windows 11 + Claude Desktop, and on Linux (WSL) + Claude Code. Not tested on macOS or Cursor yet.
  • Your project needs to be saved as files on your computer (cloud-only projects aren't supported). Play-tests use the Edge or Chrome you already have.
  • Unofficial: not affiliated with GDevelop or Anthropic.
  • Made with Claude Code (the code, the docs and the simple shapes in the images), then tested on real installs. The AI disclosure is on the page.

Everything in the GIF is real: the calls and replies are excerpts from a test run, and the little game at the end was built only with the tools.
