Thanks for feedback, really appreciate it. :)
Yeah, the amount of sliding is intentional, but the hamster can be kept under control by making more concise moves.
The game is difficult and it gets even harder later on, but in our experience, anyone who invested a bit more time in the game got a lot better eventually, and that first area was a breeze for them later on.
But we will definitely consider adding an easier difficulty in the future.
I must say, very nice game, simple and dynamic, especially considering the time invested in making it.
I would consider adding the controls section in the description, they are intuitive but I think it would be nice to know them before checking out the game.
I also had this bug with high health, happened when I was in a collision with the last pink enemy in a wave. Also had real trouble hitting him with a projectile, no matter where I aimed it looked like the projectile was going away from him. Might be just my poor aiming, not sure, it was just that 1 time.
Good luck with the game.
Hi guys, we just published our first game here on itch.io, you can find it on the following link:
https://citadelstudios.itch.io/the-hungry-hamster
Basically, the goal of the game is to prevent your ever-hungry hamster from getting too chubby by avoiding different types of food. General mechanics are simple, but levels can be quite challenging and may require different kind of skillsets from the players. Overall, we hope you'll have fun playing the game.
