Thank you for the feedback ! Glad you enjoyed my jammer mechanic. I had fun designing and implementing it to the game with the effects on screen and sound effects.

On the topic of dialogue and failing, I think I clearly underestimated how frustrating restarts are after getting caught. Because the tutorial is short, I did not add checkpoints to it (although having one before the lasers would be welcome). I might remove the collision box that forces the player to wait for the first dialogue to finish, or just skip it entirely if it has already been played before.

I plan to expand the game in the future to add new mechanics, some real levels outside of the "VR training" and the furry lore that I've been writing in my project notes.

A really good game ! The movement feels very good, the fight mechanics are very solid and the overall game is really nice to play. Killing a wave of enemies rushing towards you feels satisfying and there's variety in the enemies you fight, from the standard enemy to the big guy (which I straight up refuse to fight sometimes). I also noticed some nice details while speedrunning (I had fun doing it btw), like the character portrait that changes depending on the damage the player has sustained.

The Windows 7 style gave me so much nostalgia and the game, although very simple, never ceased to surprise me or give me a good laugh. It feels really good to achieve a good ending (managed to get a total of 3), especially when you are expecting a bad one. If only it had some sound effects and maybe a background music, like the Windows 7 login sound effect to max out on the nostalgia or some notification sounds when you receive a new message.

I also think that the dialogue sometimes goes really fast with the characters sending 4 messages in less than 2 seconds but that's not really a big deal, just a minor detail. I also got softlocked twice, but the game is still great !

The main mechanic of the game is really fun and makes for some interesting puzzles. Love the artstyle, the environment and the music, they all fit the game perfectly and create a relaxing ambiance. It took me a bit of time to figure out the solutions and finish the game. It's just a little bit short, would love to see the game being expanded in the future to add new levels. Other than that, the game is awesome !

Nice artstyle, great music and well designed puzzles. The camera isn't perfect and rotating blocks is a bit difficult with the mouse, but the rest of the gameplay is good. Overall, a solid foundation.

Went all the way to level 18, maybe I'll come back to finish the game.

The game definitely has potential. The concept is great, it fits the theme, the 3D assets are really well made and the music is great. However, gameplay wise, the game is kinda difficult : the perspective makes it really hard to determine the distance with the projectile and send it back to the targets.

I wasted 20 minutes of my life getting all 3 endings, you better send that apology letter

A solid platformer and puzzle game with interesting mechanics.  They mix well together on the late-game and the levels do a great job of introducing these mechanics to the player in an understandable way.

On top of that, the art and character animations are top notch and the music fits well with the dark prison theme.

Great game ! The music and the artstyle creates a relaxing feel. Really liked the 3 different themes that you went with for the levels and the underlying narrative.

Overall, I enjoyed playing your game, even makes me want to organize my life more.

Thanks for the feedback, it's my first ever game and I didn't expect to do that well on a 9-day time window, especially on english voice acting.

The skip dialogue feature is definitely something I look forward on implementing later during development. I kinda know how painful it gets since I had to wait for the dialogue every time I was testing the game.

I talked about the shrinking thing as a joke, but I guess that could be funny if it was real... Maybe in a future update, who knows...

I think my sense of humor is broken

slither.io if it was cool !

Seriously though, I did not expect it to give me such nostalgia. The gameplay is really satisfying the longer the tape gets (as you kill more rats and get that sweet multiplier on your screen), same with the orbs (especially the one that I call the "tactical nuke"), and that music is cooking ! I mean, I started the game for the satisfying gameplay and stayed for the music. Very well done !

I unfortunately encountered a bug where the music stops playing after some time.

The art and the gameplay is great. The only complaint I have is regarding the UI with the buttons that are kinda hard to click on. The idea of the character's arm being the cursor is very original and I like it.

Also, I find the achievements to be great for replayability (I've restarted the game to get some so that's a good sign).

Very simple yet effective game. I didn't have any trouble understanding the game mechanic. Only encountered one bug where I was stuck on the side of the map and had to refresh the game.

The menus are also really good looking.

I like the concept, although it took me a while to find out that you can hover over the characters to find out their buffs and debuffs. Music also fits perfectly for the game. Overall, I really enjoyed playing it.

I really enjoyed the game. The visuals look good, the gameplay is great and the different maps is a great addition to add variation. The only issue I had was the movement that I found hard to handle at first (due to the 45° rotation of the map), as well as the insects that are sometimes hard to see (I always find myself stopping for 3 to 5 seconds looking for the next insect). Other than that, it's a great game !

Words cannot express how much I love this game ! Although my broke ass could not play "Papers please", I'm a fan of this kind of game, and the furry version is really well crafted ! The characters, the music, the Crab Executive Officer, everything is perfect !

Outstanding game ! Everything works together very well and I really like the furry twist to Papers Please.

Solid game idea, great execution and the game fits the theme perfectly (it was even in my list of ideas at the start of the jam). Gameplay seems great from the yt video, I look forward to play it once it's ready for release.

I pushed a fix so that you can hold C to crouch instead of CTRL if you want to give it another shot.

I use an AZERTY keyboard, so I didn't encounter the CTRL+W browser behavior during testing. Turns out I actually got punished for being french lol.

(1 edit)

Well that's something I missed in testing (since I use an AZERTY keyboard and move using ZQSD, not WASD). Will try to get this fixed ASAP.

Update : the game has been fixed ! You can hold C to crouch instead of CTRL.
