Ahahah, there's nothing to be forgiven. If anything, I'm going to take that as a compliment to my writing! I'm very flattered to hear that this is the first game for you where so many characters turned out so complelling you can't pick one above the rest.

I'm scared to imply there's even more characters coming in the future. I hope they're going to turn out as good or even exceed the expectations set up by Chapter 1!

Yes! I spent a good while deciding on Valeriana's design. I had a general idea in my head: white hair, white dress. But following from that and making her into how she looks now genuinely took me a while.

I'm very happy to hear you liked the approach I took with Liora. I think it's a fun challenge where the correct choice requires you to understand her and isn't always obvious "give more food". Where her own needs and preferences strongly matter in order to break her defences and develop a relationship that allows some chub to appear. And as to the slim Liora's future... I'll have to think about it. Because you saw the resolution of the slim route. It's a very different note from the chubby route.

Right! I'm working on multiple projects now so I forgot to mention it first time but now I remember. Prologue was focused on Selena's weight gain stuff and different problems whereas my goal with the Chapter 1 for her was to show a different side - caring, helping, teasing, badass, her warmer approach to the protagonist. I hope I succeeded with those!

I genuinely appreciate such breakdowns a lot as they help me see where my content is lacking rather than „make game better”. Especially as this is my first dive into making games. So all critique is welcome! 

 1. Your first point is very valid. I might go back and create more variants indeed so that they always match the body stage perfectly. As to the artstyle inconsistencies there’s only so much I can do about that, at least with my current level of knowledge of ai. If I ever find a way to retain more consistency, I’ll try to go back and rework these scenes. 

 2. About choices, I have already added a system that gives notifications in appropriate story moments. Like „Rosalind’s weight just went up!” or „Liora approved”. Kind of like Baldur’s Gate 3. And there will be a Journal added too where you can track these stats closer if you wish. I hope this solution of mine is somewhat aligned with what you implied is needed.

 On the gallery, yes, I believe the game could benefit from that and the only problem is that it might take me some time to implement it in a nice way, given how many CG scenes there are and some have variants within the scenes depending on the choices. But I am thinking of a way as that was a recurring thing in the comments. 

The secret route is more like… a bonus? A little extra flavor for the side characters.

But I disagree on your read of the battle. In my head these character threads should be concluded beforehand. We’re closing the smaller (not less important) personal arcs to then cleanly move into the bigger stakes finale. The mood during the battle, after battle and in the farewells as well as Ellie segments are very different and I don’t think there’s room for high intimacy anywhere within. It was inspired by Dragon Age: Origins and their handling of intimate pacing as I quite liked it. 

 3. Selena is a recurring character who stays with us for the most of the time. While I agree she could’ve gotten more developmental spotlight overall, Chapter 1 was not the place for it yet. She had defeated her immediate problems in the Prologue and I want to savor her character like a fine wine across the game rather than make up stuff just so she’s relevant. But I can say it’s definitely not the end for Selena! 

4. Here I absolutely agree. There should be bloat sprites and I should have made them. Already. Those will definitely be added and will appear consistently in the future chapters. So at least one (possibly two, depending on the overall workload) bloat sprites will be added as some events are indeed implying fullness and bloating without any visual support of that state. 

 5. Liora is a fun one to write indeed, I’m happy to hear you liked it! That was exactly my point to think in a different way than usual for her. I think the two-valid-endings approach is also working in her favor. 

But yeah. Creating this amount of CGs would be a lot of work, even with ai involved. I can’t promise I’ll create ending variations for all states. Chapter 2 is a lot of work as is. But we’ll see about it. I hope I can deliver on all of the nuances! 

6. Yes, I actually tried adding battle sound effects but it’s surprisingly hard to find fitting ones. There will definitely be effects coming once the whole thing is complete. But for now I still have to find some satisfying sounds. And right, I saw some players not notice that you can expand on the party. Designing a game with 100% knowledge of all the systems can muddy your view of the player’s experience ahaha. But I have added empty fields in the deck (where party members portraits are displayed) and a notification that new party members are available. All coming in a future qol update! 

Thank you for all of these insightful points again. They help a lot with steering this game (and all the future games) in the correct direction! 

I only hope the regret you felt was not about a wasted purchase but more about the fact that this game has potential to be even better. If so, I’ll definitely work on improving it. Feedback is an incredible thing to have!!

It's not yet decided. But in act two we're not going back home for now.

I am however thinking about some sort of spin-off or side story with her. So she might yet have a role to play but we'll see about that!

I wish I could recommend another one. But I myself am not that well-oriented in the weight gain games. I played only a handful to get a general grasp on what do others offer. But I didn't really find any story-heavy games among them. Maybe once YummySinpie releases her game? But it's been quite a while since any game-related news.

As to Selena, I too get why people would like to see her bigger. Personally I think she's hit that sweet spot between weight and personal comfort. And if I decide to make her gain more, it'll likely be optional. And probably won't happen any time soon. She's an important character and I don't intend to write any elements just for the sake of them. I treat these characters and world seriously even if you could say "hey, it's just a fetish game!". And with Selena romance... I think the writing's got to be careful here. Because like you said, they already have a fun dynamic of friendship and a mutual back and forth. Introducing romance can often destroy that. And then there's Ellie too. But I have a plan!!

About Liora... did you know she has a slim ending? You can actually push her both ways! And I actually have a different read on her chubby ending. She doesn't seem sad. She can take on plenty of strong warriors even with extra bounciness. What she gets is a permission to relax. A chance to step away from the grind and the anxiety while still staying on top. Though maybe I have conveyed this badly ahaha.

As to the progress... Hard to say. Still plenty of writing to be done. But it's definitely not stalled!

Right now I'm giving some focus to Valeriana and Neyli. Plus a bunch of new characters and locations that we're going to visit. Lots of content coming overall!

I'll see what can be done about this. Perhaps I can add one to disable the ones that are not essential for the story. I can't promise I'll add it but if I have enough free time to work on it, I'll try to add one in the future!

Yeah, with Selena it's complicated to build the romance. I have a few ideas, like I said. I'd rather have less of something (and maybe write something extra in the future) than ruin what's good. Even if it's a fetish game, I do care for the story and the characters.

And you know... there's always fwb... not saying this is or is not the direction I'm taking though!

As to Ellie... I have it all planned in this department and don't quite want to reveal stuff too soon. But well. You saw Ellie's personality, right?

You mean a toggle to disable the sound and visuals or to completely alter the story? Because in my opinion sometimes they play an important role in certains scenes (as absurd as it sounds ahahah). For example battle with a certain demon. It's hard to write all of the farts out of it.

However I believe in chapter 1 I wrote far less of them into the script.

Or do you simply mean to separate the sound controls for burps and farts?

Good news! She will most likely gain a bit more weight in chapter 2. And... I am still on the fence about the actual romance for her. But there's definitely a lot of plans for this character. I have SOME romance plans involving her. But we'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll write multiple routes. Like for the others!

Currently she's at a comfortable spot with her story as she made peace with herself and the weight. So I have to think up a new arc for her and am working on it since I love Selena too.

Unless you're asking about the current state of the game and the chapter 1? In this case - no. She doesn't gain more weight yet. But she does get a few feeding scenes and some really cool moments. I'm sure you'll love those if you like Selena! :D

There are multiple endings, yes. I'm currently working on making it more transparent on how to reach them.

Emilia has a good, neutral and bad ending. Liora has three endings - two good and one neutral. Rosalind has one good and one neutral. There's also an ending with both Rosalind and Liora and one secret ending (that I might've made a bit too hard to achieve in the hindsight!).

To get Liora to join your party, you must understand what she wants and make choices that she would approve of. I'm working on adding a visual confirmation of whether the choice has made character's relationship go up or down and same for the weight gained or lost.

Indeed! I was quite surprised as well. And recently they have introduced an editing feature where you can cut tracks, regenerate parts, edit in various other ways and change the generation settings or instruments for sections. Quite powerful, I'd say. Though it's still not perfect. If the games make enough money I'll be hiring a composer in the future for sure for the major tracks and music themes.

Made with Suno.ai. I spent weeks, searching for fitting palace music and haven't found what I wanted even among paid stuff. So eventually I gave up and went with ai.

If you really like the music, it should be relatively simple to extract it from game files. I can also upload it to youtube or something. But that will have to wait as I'm loaded with work at the moment.

Perhaps. But they're quite expensive for me. I'd have to have an established base of potential mac buyers to do that. I'll think about this eventually.

But if you want to play right now, perhaps a windows emulator could be a solution?

I'd definitely do that. But at the moment I do not own a Mac device which is required in order to build those distributions.

I tried to minimize the screen clutter. There's a little arrow on the left bottom of the screen press it. It'll open a side menu panel

Oh, I totally forgot to mention! You can do a manual save once combat begins, even as you're about to lose. Then, when you load the save, it should be at the beginning of the combat encounter!

Not an ideal solution but at least saves you the scrolling

Edit: have you placed all 3 members in your team and edited decks? Juggling cards around does wonders. Later cards are often much stronger than your base deck.

First of all: thank you so so much for this detailed review! It delivers me so much feedback that I didn't have before. In the future I will definitely be making adjustments to many of the things you pointed out!

Now onto your feedback and game experience.

You have pointed out a few things that combined might've resulted in a worse experience than intended - for which the fault is mine. Liora's route is probably the least focused on weight gain during this arc. There are three different routes in total in Chapter 1. Rosalind's, Liora's and Emilia's. Of the three Emilia's is the most significantly focused on weight gain. So if you have any will to try again, I recommend aiming to please Emilia! :D

As to opportunities for weight gain and how the choices work. I have built a system in which nearly all of your choices matter. Some of them raise a character's relationship status, others raise their weight points. If you gain enough weight points, then their sprite changes to a heavier one. And in case of the mansion scene, every dish you serve to Rosalind, raises her weight by 1. There were a few choices earlier too which combined will result in her weight gain. She even has a special scene before you go to the Ljosvaettir ruins if her weight did increase after the house trap!

I absolutely agree it could use some identification that a choice you made had an impact on the relationship or the weight. Initially I didn't intend on having THIS many choices in the game.

I will be definitely making adjustments to combat too. Thanks for the suggestions. It's totally doable and I think the correct thing to implement! I was also thinking on how to make the traditional draw mechanic more interactive so you can influence the cards you actually want on your hand. I thought for example each turn could begin with a look at your top 4-6 cards then you pick two that you actually want then reshuffle.

I think I could definitely play around with the intensity of weight gain in chapter 1 as well. And yes, chapter 2 will have significantly more weight gain content focus! Including Liora - if she joined your party permanently.

As to the maid, there are two opportunities. One is for example to tell her that your walk with Rosalind was a little bit romantic. Then you have to be on Emilia's route. And when she asks you if you're in some kind of palace romance, ask her back if she wants to be included!

So, as of now in prologue you can have all of them gain at least a bit. Then in chapter 1 the main characters for gains are Rosalind, Emilia and Liora. You can also have the maid and Perlene put on a bit of pudge through not as much as the main characters.

Yes, I am very motivated. All of the positive comments and reviews are a massive motivation boost. I'm already fully into writing the continuation. Retaining the quality means it'll take a bit to complete but I think it's going to be worth it!

I don't want to throw out any spoilers in the comments like that but I can say many characters are going to receive their own weight gain in a future free update, when chapter 2 will be ready! :D

You just need to initially make some choices that are pleasing her, then you'll lock onto her route once the whole story starts rolling and you can make her gain with the correct choices afterwards!

As to the content update... I genuinely can't say when will new chapter come. Definitely more than half a year. Writing this kind of story with characters, plot, events and unique scenes takes a lot of time. The good news is that I have already started working on it!

What I'd recommend is to put Liora in your team and play "Shields Up" on her so she tanks the direct hits. You should try to kill her minions as well, as they're powering up her ult. If you can keep it, then don't use the special stage ability before her ult - it's aoe and can easily clear the minions she summons.

Also, in patch 0.63.4 Nyrissa has been nerfed. So if you're on any earlier patch, please, download the most up-to-date version of the game and the fight will be easier!
