we might be able to do that, but there's a lot of original earthbound source code in there that we wont be able to give out, so if we get to it it might be a while...

Yeaaa, that's a v1.1 bug, we fixed that already... and the only way to recover this would be to use a save editor and give yourself item 182, or to just restart... apologies! but it is of course recommended that you play on the latest version

that's intentional, even if it is a bit annoying... i wanted to make sure people had at least SOME kind of weapon, because lancer's tutorial battle is pretty much the only one that's manageable without a weapon. apologies, but i hope you understand!

sorry for my late reply! yea, this happened to a few people, but try as i might i cannot figure out why it happens... the fact it's inconsistent makes it EXTREMELY hard to test for, and there's not really anything in the code that would cause it to happen... it sucks, but my best advice is to just reset sadly. apologies!

when you die in earthbound, it doesnt reset any of the event flags. nearly everything that happens in bound to the dark world is EXTREMELY flag-dependent, and unless we made a new script changing every needed flag at every single save point, it would break something every time you died. however, if the game resets, all flags go back to how they should be

that's normal! it was a work around for some funny flag business

oh hm,that's strange... well i dont wanna just start putting out a bunch of hotfixes, so if there's a handful more bugs reported from anyone, this'll be fixed in that

thanks for your feedback again!

unfortunately, this kind of thing is out of our control... the hack is a 6mb rom which is unusal for super nintendo games, and a lot of issues come from people using roms that aren't able to have the patch applied to them properly, usually resulting in the graphical issues you showed. not every emulator is built to handle 6mb roms either, which is why a lot of people have problems with snes9x

fixed a lot of this stuff in v1.2!! some of it is coming in v1.3. i keep saying "we" but im really the only one fixing all of these bugs on top of also being a college student, so im doing the best i can haha

i appreciate all the feedback though!

hmmm, this is odd... i had to mess around with a lot of the great board code, but i'll take another look at it to see if i can find the cause for this... thanks for your feedback!!

ahhh what the heck!! this is something i thought i fixed... i'll keep looking into this, sorry about that! should be fine if you reload your save and try again

we're really not sure why this happens... i'll keep looking into it, but this is a bug we fixed almost a year ago at this point, im not sure how it came back :(

the item id for the key is 182! sorry for the late reply, but i did just realize why this bug occurs thanks to your comment!! you've officially helped with development on the hack, tysm :3

Yup! this was fixed in v1.2. And yes, the level cap is 28. We're working on v1.3 at the moment which fixes a few more minor things

well, looks like we're getting a v1.3 LOL

thank you so much for your feedback!! ill get to fixing all of this asap!

thanks so much for your feedback!! we're working on v1.2 to hopefully address as much of this as we can. as for the kris equipment thing though... thats just an earthbound thing lol. if you want to equip something on a character it has to be IN their inventory. old RPGs hahaha

i wont lie we have no idea how this happens. no one in the earthbound hacking server knows either... its scary.........

Sorry about the trouble! We're working on v1.2, it should be out soon hopefully and will address everything that we're capable of fixing

It's included with the romhack download!!

I had thought about how the game would play on other monitor sizes, but everyone I sent the game to to playtest seemed to have a 1080p screen, so I assumed it wasnt an issue, sorry about that!!

For the aliens getting stuck on planets, that was actually intentional, it was a way to slow them down with having any sort of dynamic speed system or anything

And i suppose you’re right about the arrow, my main idea behind it was if the player was focusing on their character to not get hit, they would still be able to shoot by knowing which direction their cursor was in, or if they lost sight of their cursor

And i shouldve made it more obvious i guess, but if you get a bonus weapon and dont like it, you can press right click to at least reset you weapon back to the main blue one, I think thats on me

Thank you for your feedback!!

I didn't really wanna comment to clarify the loop aspect, but you're kind of right in that it has a bit more of a loose interpretation... However, the dialogue at the end is supposed to imply that yes the loop is that many have tried and failed to beat the game over and over and over, but so much so that the character at the end even comments on it in what she says. You overcome it by just being unbelievably cracked at the game. Even if its kind of easy (or are you just that good? Who can say…) I hope that clears it up... I don't want to sound all "erm, actually!!" But thank you for your feedback either way!!
(Also, I loved Teratomachine!!)

Thank you! I tried to get a web build out as best I could, but HTML5 wasn't working with it. I did just find out that GXgames export is what I should have been using though, haha

The score doesn't mean anything, just a number I picked to show that the character has been playing for a while

And thank you for reminding me about the 2 thing! That was one of the dev shortcuts I had and decided to keep it as the game doesn't have save features, but it wasn't intended to be an easter egg, I just forgot to mention it in the description LOL

I wanted to try and get a web build out so bad :( Some parts of the game wound up taking longer than anticipated and the web export was unbelievably buggy the game didn't function, but that will be one of my top priorities next time! Thank you for the feedback 🙇‍♂️
