Good news pilots! The boffins at GHQ have come up with a new plan, called a "demo".
Best of all, it's free!
Well - I say free - there's a good chance you might still die, but that's a price worth paying for King and Country - eh what?
Chocks away!

Attention aviators!
At the risk of sticking my head too far out of the cockpit, I'm sharing my first crack at making a game... a WW1 side scrolling 2D action shooter inspired by the games I loved as a kid - games like Sopwith, Armour Alley and Choplifter.

I'm not a coder, and I'm definitely not an artist, and I work full time so this is a new hobby. I'm using Claude AI (yes, my 15 year old son is furious with me!) but I'm battering it about the head to make something resembling what I love about those old games.
The premise is simple - take to the skies and blast anything that moves on land, the sea or in the air:
- Land — Strafe enemy trenches, silence artillery batteries, and survive a gauntlet of fire as you duck and weave your way across the enemy lines of the Western Front!
- Air — Climb into the clouds and take on the Red Baron and his Flying Circus!
- Sea — Skim over open water as you target the enemy's patrol boats, destroyers, cruisers and more!
Features:
- Deadly enemies — dodge anti-aircraft fire, enemy tanks, planes and ships, and a host of other random events.
- Dynamic weather — rain, wind, storm seas, sunny days and searchlit night
- Career mode — Create your perfect pilot and guide them through the gauntlet to earn medals and a place on the Roll of Honour and Global Leaderboard
- Growing list of options — From game type to weather, you're in command. Sort of.
I've rolled out three levels so far, and they all need work, so definitely 'Early Access' at this stage - but I find it fun to play so hopefully some others will too.
I'd love your feedback, good or bad, as I'm definitely new to this and want to make something fun.
