Super unique and fun game!

I really love this take on the theme! The controls were a little odd at first but you get used to them quick. The levels were nicely designed as well! The sfx and visual effects for the chain are soooo satisfying, there is generally some good amount of polish here.

I think the boss at the end was a little anticlimatic though x)

Overall, really well done, this is such a fantastic entry!

When that "run" text appeared on screen I was so terrified I refused to move for like 5 minutes. I noticed nothing seemed to chase me so I thought there just wasn't anything to be scared of... well uh... haha I shit myself

Neat game! It's pretty short but the atmosphere is great. The connection to the theme is really loose but I do see the vision. Also when holding the cube it obscured the vision a little too much imo.

Overall though really cool game, good job!

Fun!

I agree with the other comments, the background is definitely a little distracting.

I also would have liked a little bit of a twist on the suika game formula, since this is essentially just the same idea.

Still very fun though! well done!

Really fun and extremely satisfying!!

Especially when you get to a point where the balls just start colliding without your intervention... it feels so damn good.

I just wish the amount of money you gain would scale with the amount of collisions you get. Also background music would have been nice!

Overall neat game!! this was very fun. Well done!

Pretty fun game!

Super satisfying too, I just wish the balls had sfx when bouncing.

Really fun entry, good job!

Such a neat idea!

I had a lot of fun with this! I did feel like the levels were a bit too large though. I think puzzle games usually thrive when levels look small and simple at first but are actually complex due to their small size. Since this game revolves around grid movement and space management, tighter levels would really make this game shine I think. Walking around the whole map just to get a bucket for instance was not challenging but a little tedious unfortunately.

That said, I absolutely loved the mechanics shift from pushing coal to pulling buckets, really nice twist. (Having an undo button is also fantastic). Background music would have made this game even better :)

Overall, fantastic entry. really fun! Good job!!

Pretty fun!

It's obviously very short so there is not a lot to rate here but the stuff that made it in is very good! The art is great and the shooting specifically feels very solid, My reccomendation would be to add some sort of power meter that shows how long youve been drawing the bow for. Consider taking the time to add audio too x)

I'd love to see you expand on this. This has a lot of potential!

Good job!

Wow, such a fantastic entry!

While the connection to the theme is more indirect, I still think it's really spot on!

Stirring and throwing whatever you have in there couldn't be more satisfying and I just love how everything snowballs once you get your first few ingredients! I'm a big fan of games with numbers everywhere and values getting bigger so I just sat here for half an hour, playing this before I had to stop myself x)

Everything around the gameplay is pretty much just perfect. The visuals and the sound make for such a great atmosphere! I specifically enjoy the music a lot. (Honestly, I already knew I was in for a treat because I absolutely love the Disinherited soundtrack).

I do think this game could really benefit from an inventory menu of sorts, like L5Squared already mentioned below me! And I also was innitially unaware that you could buy more than 3 ingredients.

Overall, banger game! I would love to see you expand on this game after the jam!

One of, if not THE most satisfying game of the jam, amazing!

This was super fun and really charming. I specifically loved the guy saying "thats what im talking about" in a really manly voice when you get a high combo, it made me laugh so much on first hearing.

Well done! I love this!

What a fantastic entry!

Others in the comments have already stated exactly what I think, I can only reiterate that this is really really well written... and the story hit home a little more often than I'd like to admit. this felt very personal to me and even though playing through this gave me negative feelings about myself, it just shows how good of a job you did with this. I think its great that this game made me feel so intensely emotional.

well done, amazing submission!

If this doesn't win the polish category im going bald.

really really well done on every front, this is a complete package! I usually suck at bullet hell games (and I admittedly didn't get very far) but this was really fun! Like I said previously, this has some serious polish, amazing game feel and some crazy sfx, I love it.

I will say the connection to the theme is a littleeeee loose though.

Overall though, super well done!!

Cute and charming game!

While the jumping is a little odd, it actually gets very fun once you get used to it. My main issue is that the camera is just a little too close I think, or the game window might just be too big for my screen? Im unsure. The camera made it very hard to read the tutorial text at times. Additionally I think power ups should definitely respawn. Accidentally messing up and having to restart the entire thing again is a little bit of a bummer.

I kept trying though but I could not make it all the way through because of these issues, however I still think this is pretty fun and has a lot of potential! It just needs a little tweaking. ^^

The visuals are very cute and so is the music, it just got a little repetitive later on.

Overall, really well done though, I'd love to see this game be expanded on!! <3

Ooh super well done on every front!

Really fun take on the theme. Having to set up stuff in a way to spread bullets everywhere but not on yourself is such a fun idea! The dialogue was also really charming and made for a really cool and funny vibe, loved it!

I unfortunately encountered a bug. Sometimes I was just not able to place stuff or shoot again after resetting the level. Additionally, im pretty sure people in the comments mentioned this already but volume control would have been nice!

Overall though, exceptionally well done! This is one of my favourites of the jam, super fun!

Wow what a fantastic game! Had a lot of fun with this! The levels are really well designed and solving them was always really satisfying. such a nice interpretation of the theme!

The visuals and the sound are also pretty charming and fitting.

well done!

Thank you so much for playing and giving a review!

As for the bug(?) you mentioned, did you really click everything?

Some clues aren't 'noteworthy clues' so they don't show up in the clue book, but they're still relevant to the overall case (Phineas mentions this in the diner).

The noteworthy clues in the third mystery are the window, the Inkwell, the small note left of the pen and the bird cage.

The clues that won't show up in the book are the box of inkwells, the pen and the letter on the mayor's desk.

If these things didn't highlight and you couldn't click them then thats definitely a bug, however I could not replicate it unfortunately :(

Thank you for playing!! Super happy you liked it ^^

Wow thank you so so much for playing and your review! I'm happy you liked it this much!

(I might update this game after the jam!!)

Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you liked it!!

And well... it turns out the human body is capable of a lot of things if you don't shower, sleep or leave your room for 72 hours x)

Thank you for playing! Happy you liked it ^^

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you liked it this much <3

Wow this is such an amazing game and a great take on the theme!

The levels were all really fun, satisfying and overall nicely designed. I really love this games atmosphere specifically!! There is a great amount of polish here too!

Fantastic game, so well done!!

Thank you so much for playing!! I'm glad you liked it :)

Thank you so so much for playing and giving feedback!!

Im super glad you liked the writing and i'm even more glad that you liked the way I handled wrong deductions. I actually planned to have every wrong deduction be specifically based on your exact order of clues (You can see this behaviour in the first and second mystery). However, as you may know, if you increase the number of clues you can pick, the amount of possible combination skyrockets, which pretty much made it impossible to write highly specific dialogue like that for levels with more than 3 clues during the jam. So for the rest of the levels I just made it check the first clue and give dialogue based on that. So I'm really happy you still liked it despite that compromise!

I'm glad you enjoyed the music as well :D

Thanks for all the compliments!

The way my jaw dropped when I read through the game page... such a ridiculously cool game and what an amazing interpretation of the theme, wow!!

This was super fun and the puzzles were absolutely amazing! I loved everything about this. AND THE FACT THAT ITS A GAMEBOY GAME? HELLO? TAKE MY MONEY???

Genuinely everything about this is perfect, the only complaint I have is that I need more.

Simple but fun! The connection to the theme is a bit loose but overall well done!

Really satisfying!

I unfortunately didn't really understand what made all these enemies end up in a chain. it felt pretty random.

But fun nonetheless, well done!

Nice little game and cool concept! It just needs a little tweaking.

I feel like beeing able to move the cloud and having your own wind gust kinda clashes with the whole windmill mechanic. There is also no need to go to the lake and sip some water since you push the fire there anyway.

Also the music doesnt seem to loop!

Overall neat game though! I enjoyed it ^^

I am in love with this game... Really well done on every front, this was super fun!

I know exactly how hard it is to make puzzle games, especially designing levels can get really stressful, this is no easy feat! I liked all the levels and I think the difficulty was fair but it got easier toward the end for me.

Also I think I stumbled upon a bug. When you get an answer wrong or leave a blank space, the no state could be determined message appears, which makes sense. The issue is that the game then occasionally locks some of the kitties, preventing you from changing them unless you reset the level? It's hard to explain. It feels like the answer detection is slightly bugged.

Also having the kitties popping out to fill the screen is super cute! They do hinder UI visibility at times, though, My suggestion would be to make them a little transparent or something, so they don't distract you from the puzzle.

Overall though very very very well done!! I love this!

You had a really strong idea and executed really well! such an extraordinarily unique concept and it's very fun.

I will say it might be a little too tough at times, there is a lot of enemies. But it might just be a skill issue on my part lol.

Well done!

Detective phineas munchino always drops truthnukes

Thank you for playing!

You can achieve a lot if you hate yourself and never leave your room for 72 hours.

Thanks for playing!! :)

Thank you so much for playing!

It was a bit of a  struggle getting this out in time Dx

Thanks for playing!

The answer is lots of sleepless nights, stress, more stress... Something I do not recommend

Oh wow hey Dryden! Fancy seeing you here! :D

Thank you so so much for playing! I'm really glad the writing was at least a little funny.

And yea, I really struggled with the time thing when designing the mechanics and mysteries as well. It is definitely a game whose development would have required more brain power than I actually had in those 72 hours, it was really stressful at times Dx. Might have to give this game some more of my time after the jam.

I'm glad you still enjoyed it nonetheless!

Thank you so so much for playing and giving a review! I'm glad you liked it and downloaded it. :)

I'm super happy that you interpreted the story on this way because this was exactly my intention! It is supposed to feel like one single episode on some sort of Noir TV Show that you watch on a thursday afternoon. Thanks for the compliments!

Thank you so much for playing!

It was very stressful to get this game out and this is definitely far under my quality standards honestly, so I'm really glad it still seems polished! Thank you!

Thanks for playing! Really glad that you like it. :)

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it. ^^

Thanks so much for playing!

I will admit it was very stressful getting this to a playable state. I had so much more in mind and it was just too complex, I had to cut so much.

Had some sleepless nights to get this on here so I'm glad it feels polished!
