I'd love to contact you about my project, my discord is: chikis-me

loved the sound, loved gameplay that was fun, it had some quirks to it but it was a great lil game

"The moonlight’s getting darker, Or… Distant? My eyes sting, My arms are tired, Hypothermia must’ve kicked in by now... Or at least that’s what they say in the movies, I’m… I’m just cold, really cold. Yet… Despite all that, for some stupid reason… it feels like home... I’m not dreaming am I? This is actually happening this time. I’m actually…"

DROWNING: A game telling the story of Darryl Thorne, a Marine Archeologist reliving his life through the shores and scuba dives all across his lifetime, all the while we switch perspectives back and forth between his life and and his ineviteble death

I'm in the process of writing the script right now. I'm both a script writer and a fresh new game dev (programing mostly) so I thought this jam would be right up my alley.

If any Artists or Composers were to consider contibuting to the game I'd be honored, hmu on discord, my username is: chikis-me

Aight, when I get back home im giving it a try

Fkin Madlads, making such a polished (sorta:) Roguelike in just 4 days, it reminded me of downwell  a bit. it'd be a crime for this not to get a good spot at ranking

Really cool conecpt, and when it was more my speed it was great but speeking from the prespective of an ultrakill P-ranker it got way too difficult at around stage 4, I powered through till stage 7 where I just wasn't built for that anymore.

Awesome Art, nice music, Good game but as for my experience... maybe skill issue maybe game issue, not sure

the .exe

(1 edit)

Didn't play cause my Windows flagged it (both versions), not saying its harmful or anything just the "windows protected your pc" microsoft defender warning, if you didn't plant malware in this bad boy which im assuming you didnt id reccommend looking into that issue for future GameJams.

Looks interesting from the photos, sorry I couldn't play it

The game ran kinda poorly for me but thats to be expected with most html builds. I Liked the art and concept a lot.

Gonna give some criticism which is something im comfortable with only because i genuinely enjoyed the game:

- last puzzle was a tad confusing since theres no indication the final door was open at that point

- Countdown mechanic was a bit forced because you end up using it only for one puzzle, definetely helped in adding tension but once you understand that technicaly you dont lose anything when you die the tension was more from the music then the actual gameplay mechanic

Both problems I think would have been resolved by deciding either to focus on punishing the player more upon death or by adding more puzzles that rely on your death to solve them

Other then that though I liked your game a lot, it was fun it had good consistent vibes, the puzzles were simple but still quite enjoyable, and being able to look at your clock the whole time was a nice touch, It was also quite polished art-wise, Good Job

Dope short game, liked the crt effect a lot, I think you could definetely expand upon it a lot (ps Kevin Macleod's a goat)

The boat dash was a nice subtle touch
