saw your comment on the ldjam site. Relax. Many first games are not that good. You're brave enough to submit for Ludum Dare 45. I didn't even finish mine.

Some areas for improvement for this game:

1. The soldier can't shoot. People don't like that, because they have no control and cant fight back

2. Nothing happens when his health drops to zero. He doesn't even die. You can show a different sprite or go to a "GAME OVER" screen.

3. What's nice is that you had different barrel designs, and you spent time drawing the soldier. Good job!

You have to press the x longer/many times.

I think it's too difficult (for me) especially since I can't shoot most of the time. Maybe always start with the shooting power up? Other power ups don't matter as much. Perhaps you should explain what the various power ups do.

I like the graphics and 8 bit soundtrack, really pretty.

Yup the whole point of the exercise is to come up with a prototype. So that we can rework it.

Hi Jordan,

It's a simple yet fun game. My 2 cents:

Pros:

1. I love the gun sounds and the blood splatter

2. I like how the zombugs recoil when shot and disappear when out of sight.

3. I like how there are zombugs of different speeds

Cons:

1. Maybe it's just my connection, my WebGL version was laggy in the beginning at the start of every game.

2. The handgun is too weak. Takes about 11-12 shots to kill a weak zombug. I suggest either make it stronger (3-4 shots should do) or at least give a warning . The shotgun and machine gun are more effective.

3. I got mobbed when I linked the computer. Fine. Learning curve. However the computer display was blocking my view and I couldn't shoot properly. Again, a warning would have helped. Then again, maybe not....

Great work, dude. You're on to something!
