I like the art style, I'm afraid of my creature though

(1 edit)

I read your zine and it was really nice, thank you for saying nice things about my art

This led me to all the other pita and pito games, I love

Thank you!

Thanks for talking about my game! I haven't played every entry yet but I will in time, everyone seemed to do really well.

Just submitted, I named it Viscera Was. Hopefully you enjoy it if you play it I tried my best.

Things have been speeding up a bit, the game is divided into two halves and the second one has been much quicker to make so far. The color palette is black and brown now because I figured out how to change it. It looks alright.

I'm proud of all the little characters. I feel like I could give a piece of trivia to each one, a couple are reused designs from unshared things, some have ties to other characters, or they just have very specific inspirations.

For now here's Fireby who I made last night

Alright, thanks for telling me

I'm making something a little bit large in decker, and it probably won't be a problem but I just want to know if there's a card limit to be safe. If there isn't a limit are large projects just inconvenient to work with? Or should I not be worried?

I've only made a little more, worried about it not being a visual novel enough. The UI looks more like a point and click, and there should probably be more text. I'll see if I can find a solution.

Here's Eddy Retro, he's kind of an ass.

The art was really good and the story's sad but nice. You did well

Thank you!

Hi didn't find this topic until now. A few days ago I made Ross. He's like my son please be nice to him. The whole scene with him is done, it didn't take too long. I love him.

I've also made a map where you click on different areas and it takes you there, and you talk to a guy and it'll be fun, I actually really want feedback on it, it feels kind of overwhelming and maybe there's something that could be done better? The areas you click on are not implemented yet besides one where I still need to add the dialog. I haven't been very productive compared most other projects I do.

Also everyone's projects look really good so far. Someone mentioned submitting another game and I didn't know that was a thing so from the beginning I've planned a single large one that would take advantage of the long deadline and I'm not changing that plan now.

The perspective of my visual novel is from just a nameless stand-in for the reader that doesn't talk, and all the dialog will be characters speaking to you.

The character the plot revolves around won't be seen in the beginning, but he'll be built up in the story before you see him. He's this silly looking meat organ brain creature who might be named the Viscera Man but I don't know yet. He's kind of like a cryptid around a rural village, he became the Viscera Man like a month ago and has been hiding and is feared, but he's a nice little guy.

He's also gender of trans, and he's going through like a trans allegory. The game's going to be light-hearted but I need to make sure issues aren't undermined. Maybe it's just me but most visual novels and most queer stories have like normal human characters or at least close to that, which is fine of course, but I always preferred little creatures and weirdos, like a guy you'd see in a surreal Rpg Maker game but gay, so I'm making what I want to see.

I made the creature

Hi I made my first decker game a few weeks ago and it's nice, I've taken a break from working on projects until the jam starts. None of my games have been very writing focused so I'd really like to try it. My only ideas so far are very loose, so hopefully I'll have more concrete concepts prepared when the jam starts. I usually make my games within a week or two so it'll be different for me to stick with one for a month long jam. I hope everyone's development goes well.

My game's development is going well. I usually use clickteam fusion so it's a very convenient jam for me. I just wanted to post a topic for fun, and to ask how development's been for everyone else.

The game uses the arrow keys and not the mouse, and you're constantly being pushed to the corner. I'll try to add a visual for it. I have no idea about the full screening stuff though.

Badass

Great game. I'm looking forward to Clown Meat even more now.

We're submitting separate entries, so it there anything we need to avoid doing  to keep it fair? It's the first time either of us have done a public jam, so I'm not 100% sure how it all works.

Hi

It's too late, buddy.

More like peak creator. 10/10

The Pikmin Saboteur strikes frequently and without warning.

At any moment your masterpiece may become a Pikmin!

Playing this unironically rekindled a passion within me and gave me some ideas for something, on top of being a damn fun game, so thank you.

The level design is pretty good. The collisions need a lot of work, and a consistent pixel resolution would improve the game a lot. Overall, the game at it's core has a great feeling to it.

I love Goblin Holes. It's so Goblin. Everyone should play it.

I honestly think this is the best puzzle platformer I've ever played, and I've played countless other puzzle platformers. I love this game.

I love this game, it's extreme.

An enjoyable little game

Very nice visuals and gameplay. My only problem with it was how it's a bit difficult to tell what an upgrade does before selecting it, but that could easily be fixed.
