I'm amazed you managed to make a functioning and intuitive metroidvania in such a short time frame! The music changed for each area, there was a checkpoint system, late jump, and even a boss battle!

I'm not sure if it's intentional but you can do infinite jumps when in flipped gravity. Besides that, it would be cool if the enemy sprite glowed white (or some feedback) when it was attacked.

Excellent work!

I loved the particle effects and the gameplay was a good challenge! I've always wanted to make a game with a forget mechanic and it was neat to see a small part of it here.

Next jam I do, I'll have a priority to throw some audio for inputs!

Yeah, I keep running out of time near the end because I always decide to build a level at hour 2.5. I noticed the right wall being too short after I submitted and did not feel like recompiling the game again 😅.

Managed to reach 36! The difficulty increase had great progression and having a mistake delay my next input was a good punishment for a timed game.

o7 to the original good boy.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I was pretty happy that I managed to get the switch mechanic done in time. If you ever try it, definitely add some feedback so that the player knows who is currently in control in case they keep spamming the 'X' button.

Here's a hint for the last segment in case you're curious:

I like the way you drew the pixel cars!

Cool idea with straightforward controls! You may have already thought this but it would be neat if the police had different HP and a scale that matched it. They could start off as big enemies that shrunk as more piranhas attacked them.

Very well done, this game does a great job of injecting emotional moments throughout the experience. You feel the tension as the barriers get stricter and you feel bad when recruiting swarms get decimated before they reach your squad.  My best was 246.
