I think it's mostly that the AI generated animation is... Uncanny... there's just something Off about it in a way I can't explain. it doesn't look the same to the rest of the game due to how weirdly/unnaturally smooth it is >.>

PHENOMENAL GAME!! I do have... Notes...
First off, the characters and the assets that are drawn are really, really good! They're written really nicely. I'm not much for AI but I think I understand why it's here in this case, but I do recommend trying your hand at animation. Maybe not as a replacement, but as some practice to see if you can make something a bit better!
The exploring section in the forest felt like a complete slap to the face for my immersion, mostly because of how surprisingly dark it was. Now, I'm just a random commenter, but I think it'd make sense to have it be easier to see during the daytime and harder in the evenings? As it is, that section is the weakest (artistically speaking) due to the dark and the player model being so out of place compared to the rest.
ANYWAYS! Fantastic game, you did a wonderful job, the scene with the mom really hit me in the heart, and the ending ripped out my heart and stomped on it. Great stuff!
