I really enjoyed this. I expected some kind of arena shooter but got an atmospheric platforming movement mech game. The intro is well done and sets the tone, the whole vibe reminds me of HL2.

The movement is good, transitioning between sliding, walking and grapple swinging feels smooth and satisfying. I expected some footstep sounds but that's not a big deal. Maybe you could give the grappling hook more of an error margin? Right now you need quite a precise aim to grab onto smaller railing which becomes difficult when you're swinging around at high speeds. The pacing in general is good, but I got filtered at the maglev train area.

Oh, and the BGM is an absolute banger.

I spent like 10 mins just looking at how good the floor vent volumetric fog effect looks with the flashlight, good job.

The overall experience is smooth, explosions and sound effects feel nice and juicy. I rolled 3 red techs and deleted everything easily lol. Keep it up, would love to see missiles and bombs added to the game!

Nice art and presentation, I especially like the character intro animations, and the story seems intriguing. I'm impressed by the widge range of characters to choose from, and the music is pretty good too.

The game performance started to go down hill once I met Bianca and lowering the graphic settings didn't help.

It also looks like you are using a mix of dynamic text and baked text into textures - which is fine but it means the baked text is unreadable at low texture resolutions. I suggest removing the lowest texture option entirely if you don't want to redo it

Minor UI detail - can you hide the button labels bar on the bottom right when displaying dialogue or other UI?

Nice job with the amount of content, asset loading could be smarter to avoid ANRs when switching scenes. I like what you did with the cockpit

also can I detonate the TOW rocket in mid air pls

What can I say, it's a lovely game. From the menu music, title voice announcer that changes (it's a nice touch), and sound effects. The only minor complaint I have is the input system getting confused and mouse not working when I have a gamepad plugged in. Good work and I wish you success!

Nice demo, I like the environment art and creating an interesting atmosphere. PC controls are rough, but I can imagine it was designed with gamepad input in mind. I appreciate the effort you put into creating interactions with various NPCs.

Good job and keep it up!

It seems to be a known bug, thanks for trying though. I hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for playing, it looks like we are making similar styles of games here.

I'm always tweaking weapon balancing and UI, it's good to get some feedback on it! Lock on missiles are work in progress, but I noticed a lot of players don't bother with missiles at all and spec their loadout entirely on turret - which is a totally valid strat btw.

I know it's an early demo, but already it has a very nice visual style and art direction! I like the simple drag control scheme (my game uses the same interaction in touch mode hehe). I also really enjoy the way friendly and enemy units engage with each other, good job.

a few things to note:

- small stuttering at times from certain actions eg. firing, camera zoom, revealing areas (could be gameobject instantiation related?)

- UI text could be a bit bigger in general

- loading screen to smooth out transitions between scenes

- the dithering is a bit too much especially on effects like smoke etc

- in game dialogue UI could use mouse controls eg. LMB to go to next line

- camera controls could use more options (MMB drag pan, screen edge pan)

I think there's a timing issue which is quite tricky to solve but it's good to know it's affecting a few people. Appreciate the info!

Thanks, I just needed it to identify the relevant error logs, since it's a bit difficult to debug. It seems to happen randomly!

Sorry, if you tell me your hardware specs I can have a look through the errors!

Sure

Please enjoy. Let me know if you have any problems!

Hi, thanks for playing. I can look into adding ESC key functionality in menus.

What do you mean by full hd? You can turn on full screen and select a resolution you want in the graphics settings menu.

Thanks for the reply. To help you, I will need to know:

- What is your game version? (you can find this on the bottom left in game)

- What platform are you playing on? (PC/Android)

- Can you share a screenshot of the problem?

- What is the menu item in this problem?

- Have you tried quitting the game and starting it again?

Hey, do you have a screenshot for this problem? If you could add more information, I will look at it straight away!

Mission 1-6 is a special sequence, I noticed some players are confused, so I am working on improving the narrative to make it more obvious. If you find more bugs, feel free to use the in game bug reporter :)

Please also check you are playing the latest version - hot fixes may be available but the version number won't change, simply download it from this page again.

Hey, that sounds like a bug. You should be able to fix it by restarting the mission. Thanks for reporting it!

Just to update on this: the issue seemed to be related to Android 13 and it should be fixed in version 0.6.10. Let me know if you are still having problems, thanks!

It looks like it might be Android 13 problem, is your other phone using Android 13 too?

Sorry you are having problems guys, I don't have access to these devices but I will try to look into it.

I can get in touch more quickly to try to fix this on discord @cabulb#3451 if you like

That's weird, I am not seeing any crashes that could cause this. Can you tell me more about your mobile device?

Hi, really sorry it's not working for you. It is not possible to guarantee the game is compatible with all android devices. The next update is being planned to be released some time next month. In the mean time, there is also the windows version available :)

I think this is caused by trying to install when you already have an older, incompatible version installed. You can try to uninstall the old version first, then install the new one.

really nice. some issues with performance here and there, I was getting some micro stutters when switching weapons, and when loading into a level (eg. test rooms). fullscreen setting didnt work. mouse sensitivity in scope mode should be scaled down - this is common practice in fps controls for finer movements when zoomed in. suggestion for the bomb launcher: it would be cool to detonate the bomb after launching by shooting it

also please tell your mother her art is wonderful and you love her.

t. Hawken enjoyer

nice base gameplay concept, it's quite interesting. I like how different actions have pros and cons which makes you plan ahead for a long term strategy - so I can optimize my gains. I also like having multiple ways to make money eg. energy from dark matter, combine items for data, etc.

does combine 3 data do anything or am I just dumb for trading 3 for 1? anyway, I thought one way to spice up the random nature of the game would be having add random events (which could have positive outcomes) on top of instability, not just making you lose an item. it could inject some excitement!

good job!

Thanks for playing man. did you have a performance or graphics issue? no worries if you cant explain in detail I still appreciate your time.

Hey, any feedback is appreciated, dont worry about it dude. I'm not a pro, just one guy trying my best to make a game as best as I can. Easier text skip is a good idea, thanks!

Hey, thanks for playing. I apprciate the feedback. You seem to like the idea of ramming ships, it could be improved for sure although not exactly Battlefleet Gothic lol. Audio is pretty hard to get right at the moment but I will keep working on it!

Hi, maybe the file is corrupt. You can try to delete the file, download it again and install. Otherwise, the game might be incompatible with your phone. You can try it on windows instead.

Hi, sorry you are not able to play the game. Mac is not currently supported yet, but you can consider playing on an Android device if you have one. You can also try to use Wine for Mac to play the Windows version.

Thank you for playing! The game is constantly being worked on, rest assured bugs are being prioritized as soon as they are reported. You can take a look at the progress on bug fixes here https://trello.com/b/iLH9VZyj/salvo-bug-tracker

A bug fix update is coming very soon, thank you for your patience and please stay tuned!

Thank you for leaving such in depth comments. There are many UI tweaks you in your feedback that could improve the overall experience for sure. Things like the turrets loadout and better tutorials were already mentioned by other people so it is something I will rework. I will try to make them better. Thanks again for playing, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Some things you mentioned are still being worked on (for example menu options) but still I appreciate your feedback.

- turrets placement view: I also think the top-down overview is useful and I will try to implement a view switching functionality for that

- post processing: I understand different players will have varying opinions on it, there is a toggle to switch it off in the pause menu. the menu itself is still quite early wip

- camera controls: there is lock on (TGT) and panning control (PLN) for the camera, did you have an issue with the gameplay controls?

Thanks for playing! You have good suggestions and some things I didn't realize was a problem. I will definitely improve them and tweak the balance. Note: you can actually control the camera manually in PLN mode with arrow keys or drag

It's fun! Good work on the UI and consistent art style. Some comments:

- controls are intuitive and feel like it would be good also with touch controls

- in the first tutorial it was not obvious I had to go to the first check point orb, maybe direct the camera towards the objective for a few seconds will help

- some UI icons could use text labels/tool tips (end of level buttons)

- I like the various puzzle mechanics, some are definitely challenging and require precision
