Hey everyone!

With the recent announcement of the new Neo Geo AES+, I’ve been feeling inspired to start a new project — a retro-style Platformer designed with that classic hardware in mind.

I’m a software engineer with 15+ years of experience, and I’m looking to collaborate with:

  • 🎨 Pixel artists (character sprites, environments, UI)
  • 🎵 Musicians (chiptune / Neo Geo–style soundtrack)
  • 🖋️ Writer / Narrative designers (worldbuilding, dialogue, lore)

What is already working:

  • 🛠️ A working engine — building in C/SDL with a full Neo Geo–targeted toolchain, compiling toward real hardware.

The goal is to create something that feels authentic to the era while still being a fresh experience. I’m especially interested in pushing the limits of the hardware and embracing that old-school workflow.

If the project turns out well, I’m also planning to explore a physical cartridge release, so this could become something tangible and collectible.

Right now this is a passion project, but I’m serious about seeing it through and building a small team of like-minded creators who love retro development.

If you’re interested, drop a comment or message me with your portfolio/work!

Let’s make something worthy of the Neo Geo legacy. 🕹️

I sent you an invite

Hi there,

I am looking for a 2D pixel artist for an ARPG that is going to be targeted toward PC and Neogeo system.

Hi Amanda,

Had a look through your portfolio — the festival case studies and the magazine work are lovely, and it's nice to come across a designer who's already worked inside the indie game space.

I'm building Legend of Thorn, a 2D action RPG that runs on PC and on real Neo Geo arcade hardware from the 90s — same code, two targets. I have no public page yet, so I don't have ongoing social media work to offer right now. But store assets, launch graphics, and copy for the itch page are exactly the fixed-scope work I'll need once a playable demo gets close — and I'd much rather do that with someone who gets indie games than go hunting for a designer in a hurry later.

So mostly I'd like to stay in touch: what's the best way to reach you when things get closer?
There's nothing public to follow yet, but I'll happily send you the necessary links once it's live.

Hi nikowa. For the moment I am the solo dev on the game and it is enough going forward. In the future if anything changes I will let you know.

Thanks a lot

I sent you a friend request on discord

This is a passion project for the moment so we don't pay anything unless we make money out of it.

I haven't heard from you are you interested?
