Hey guys. I just released a (free) kinetic Sound Visual Novel called Quantum Coffee Conundrum.

https://burdendev.itch.io/quantum-coffee-conundrum

Synopsis:

Two space miners get trapped inside a corporate time loop nightmare. Hilarity ensues.

Imagine an odd couple having to argue their way out of a time loop, up until the ship's AI reminds them they are running late on their next work shift.

Average playtime: 1.5 to 2h

It's free!

The story is told in two acts and ends with a short cheeky epilogue. It is entirely in NVL format, with royalty free music and SFX used for atmosphere. The backgrounds images were taken from Space Engine and were heavily edited with some fancy glitchy filters in GIMP software to polish the imagery into something more surrealist and pleasing to look at.

I am an avid Science Fiction reader and decided to try my hand at writing a sort of reverent pastiche for the genre.

My inspiration leans heavily into Philip K. Dick and Harlan Ellison's body of work -- I was always particularly fond of the gritty and snappy dialogue and fiery personality of Ellison's, and the paranoia-fueled nightmare of PKD's.

QCC contains around 18k+ words, which doubles the amount of content from my first attempt at a VN. I have also managed to get a little more proefficient at Ren'py coding -- I went with the NVL format with scrolling text which acts as a metafiction plot element.

This was made as a hobby first and foremost for the love of the genre. I appreciate anyone who decides to check out my attempt at honoring Science Fiction.  Thank you.

It depends, could they hold their own in a bear wrestling match?
