Outsourcing RPG Game VFX Production Costs Tens of Thousands of USD
In RPG game development, VFX (Visual Effects) for battle scenes play a key role in creating impact and a sense of immersion for players. Without proper attention to this aspect, the overall quality and immersion of the game can noticeably suffer. High-quality tools and technical expertise are essential for producing effective VFX, with the choice of approach based on available budget and time. While there are a range of tools that allow for some VFX creation even with modest quality, learning to use them effectively requires investing time to master each tool’s specialized functions.
Project Case Study and VFX Production Process In our project, our graphics director opted to work with a specialized outsourcing company to create high-quality VFX and sound assets. The assets provided were meticulously customized and implemented into the game by our development director. Each raw material was adjusted to fit Unity’s environment, and to simplify testing, we created a dedicated experimental setup where each individual skill effect could be reviewed instantly without needing to load full gameplay. This approach has enabled us to test each battle skill effect quickly and efficiently.
