If I were pressed to give a definitive answer, my favorite era would have to be the original, dork age gag era. Bad puns and all. Gallagher is so much cheesy fun, with wild swerves in pitch black horror comedy, but Penders kind of wrecks everything he touches, and then DeCesare is in there quietly getting the assignment better than anybody else up until Flynn. It's a real shame DeCesare wasn't  put on more stories.

Flynn is also great, and I almost prefer his post-reboot work to the gag era. IDW is kind of hit or miss for me though. The characters are great, but the pacing and world building leave something to be desired.

But the less I say about ASO, the better. The art's often great, and that's the only praise I can give it.

I'd be happy to give you a look at the sourcebook once it's a little more cooked! I've got all the setting info written up. Just need the NPCs and character generation hacks. Then I can get to work on the art.

I have so much love for Archie Sonic! I'm glad you like this. There's another version coming up based on your MHR clone with a whole sourcebook. Still in playtesting though.

Archie Sonic is so underappreciated! Flynn's run is so good, and it's such a shame that Bollers, DeCesare, and others get slept on too. Terry Austin's inks, Yardley's development from issue 160 to IDW Sonic #1, and how far everybody pushed the Sonic lore and story.

I write and draw a webcomic continuing the story over here, if you want to check it out: https://archiesonicforever.com/

Just realized how that might come across.

That isn't to say that your version isn't useful. Just that mine is only half-written and I'm trying to make sure that my campaign & adventure creation theory works before I officially post something up.

Just as soon as it's in a state that I feel like it's useful!

I'm taking advantage of the license to do a polished up rewrite. I'll post it up when it's finished. So far I've knocked the word count down to about a third, pulled together some mechanics where the explanations were scattered throughout the original text, and swapped in some more intuitive terminology.

Taking a closer look through, I don't think this SRD is nearly done cooking. The text, at least in the General Rules section, seems to be a verbatim rewording of the original game, with muddier language and bloated verbage. It basically needs to be side by side with the original to be fully understood. And when comparing the two the overall structure is so similar that it's dangerously close to a copy of the original game's text.

Aw HELL yes!
