We're looking for a talented Video Game Storywriter to help us craft compelling narratives and bring our underwater world to life through engaging storytelling.
What you'll be doing: • Writing main storyline, side quests, and character arcs • Developing character backstories and world lore • Collaborating with our team to ensure story integrates seamlessly with gameplay
What we're looking for: • Portfolio showing narrative writing for games • Understanding of how story pacing works in games vs. other media • Experience with dialogue writing and character development • Bonus points for Medroidvania, Souls-like experience or a passion for Merfolk!
Project details: • Estimated ~20-30 hours of gameplay content for the full game, but we’ll be starting with a smaller portion to get an opportunity to see your work and fit with the team • Timeline: Currently in pre-production • This will be paid short term, project work, with the potential for ongoing collaboration if we’re a good fit.

We're looking for a Social Media & Patreon Manager to help us build our community and connect with players throughout development.
What you'll be managing: • Maintain every-other-week social media presence across Bluesky, Discord, Instagram • Creating engaging content: dev updates, behind-the-scenes posts, gameplay clips • Helping launch and then manage our Patreon community and supporter communications • Developing content calendars and posting schedules • Engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages • Coordinating with team for development updates and announcements • Growing our follower base and building excitement for launch
What we're looking for: • 3+ years experience managing social media for gaming/creative projects • Understanding of indie game community and what resonates with players • Experience with Patreon platform and subscription-based community management • Strong writing skills and creative content creation abilities • Knowledge of social media analytics and growth strategies • Passion for Metroidvania/ Souls-like games and indie development
Project scope: • Create all of the Patreon content that we need for the first four to six months • Refine and execute Patreon launch plan • Posting every two weeks on our existing platforms• Timeline: Currently in pre-production and we envision this role to be a few hours of work each week, for two months to start. • This will be paid work for a short term project. Hey everyone! We're a small indie team working on The Azure Project, an underwater 3D Metroidvania, puzzle adventure game.
We need a Gameplay Engineer who specializes in Character Combat Systems to help us create satisfying, responsive combat mechanics. This is an unique opportunity to work crafting new combat mechanics for underwater and 360 degree combat.
What you'll be working on: • Programming character movement and combat controllers • Implementing attack patterns, combos, and special abilities • Creating enemy AI behavior and combat responses • Developing hit detection, damage systems, and visual feedback • Balancing combat mechanics and player progression systems • Optimizing combat performance for smooth gameplay
What we're looking for: • 3+ years professional experience with Unreal Engine and Motion Matching • Strong background in gameplay programming, specifically combat systems • Understanding of game feel, timing, and responsive controls • Experience with animation systems and state machines • Knowledge of 3D action combat and Souls-like combat • Portfolio showing combat/action gameplay you've designed • BONUS: If you’ve animated your own characters, and or worked in the “souls-like” structure, have experience with theatrical combat scenarios, or have a desire for turning combat into a puzzle.
Project details: • Existing character movement system needs to be redeveloped and refined to shed legacy code and bring up to date (20 minute playable demo) • Create one new battle arena with a new boss • PC platform • Timeline: Currently in pre-production • This will be paid work for a short term project. There’s potential for ongoing collaboration if we’re a good fit.
