Yup I agree with all of this. I think you will enjoy what we are doing with the full game. You can leave the car in the full game so there will be more moments of vulnerablity and more intimate interactions with the enviroment which I think will fill the elements of gameplay that feel like they are missing from the demo.
was it an issue that repeated if you reset the game? Could you hear audio? How was the games performance in the main menu and did you try turing everything to low and turning off the shadows? Are you playing the game off a cloud server or locally? Have you had issues with long load times in the past?
I love this, but I can't confirm anything until the full game is out. One thing to keep in mind is that certain events in this game serve as a sequel to events in ALPEN GHOUL. My favorite part of releasing AM is seeing all the different interpretations—each player's experience and reading of the story is valid, and I’d hate to stifle any theories by confirming too much.
I'll leave you with one last hint: The third playthrough of the game is the game the Brocbois released. Also note the screen shots and trailer. Something is missing.
Amazing comment.
RESET will take you back to the start of your current playthrough but will not "fix" the game. FULL RESET (which is unlocked after your second playthrough) will reset everything back to how the game was when you first booted it up. Once the game is corrupted you are only halfway through the game. If you NEED to go back to factory settings you can delete the save on your computer and then boot the game up.
https://itch.io/app the launcher works just like Steam. You won't have to worrry about windows or unzipping files, should be much easier to just play what you want.
For... reasons... you can't reset everything in game until after the second playthrough (the real ending is in the second playthrough), but if you need to reset back to factory settings you can delete your save file on your computer by going to [user name] > appData > Local > AM > saved > saveGames and there you will find a file. Delete that then open the game to reset everything back to zero.
do you have footage or can you describe where it would crash. Are you running the game off an external? You could also turn off the shadows and other quality settings. How was performance before the crash? I wish I could help you further but you're the first I've seen of this. Even a screen cap of the area it crashed in could be a great help.
If you are struggling HERE is a guide you can check out to help. Some quick tips are that it can hear your footsteps, will use sound to track you, and can see the light from your flashlight. Be incredibly cautious when it is close by or use your fast sliding movement to create openings for yourself.
Hey this is awesome and I read the whole thing. Feedback like this helps. Also, you were SO CLOSE to beating the farm. If you would have kept going forward on the road you were on you would have beaten that area. A tip that might help is if you know where to go then start going fast and start blasting her instead of hiding. Again, thank you for your thoughts. I hope you go back in because there are things in the game that are worth experienceing first hand, spoiler free.
And feel free to use the title theme for a video. "Night Drive" is the people's menu theme.
Exploration is key. Try different routes and inch your way to victory. If you want to beat Alpen Ghoul, you’ll have to earn it. It’s one of those games. Your playstyle is up to you, but I recommend staying crouched, keeping your flashlight off, and searching around the mountain slow and safe until you’re more familiar with it. Once you have an idea of what’s out there, crank up the speed and aggressive sliding. Sliding is the fastest way to move.
Beyond this advice I can't help you. It's up to you to pull off a win. The mountain is cruel and there is no easy way to beat it... but it is beatable.
You can now enjoy this brutally intense horror game for free until the sun consumes us all. Conquer the mountain yoursel,f or dare a friend to take on the challenge. The game is guaranteed to keep you on the end of your seat. Good luck, have fun, and remember that the real Alpen Ghoul were memories made along the way.
Check it out here!Yup the newer versions have been tweaked a bit in the level design and behavior. I also added a safe area at the respawn for collecting your thoughts and relaxing a bit between attempts. It's still pretty difficult, but I was able to get the average death count down to like 10-15 deaths which I think is exactly where I want it. Keeps the monster a threat and getting to the end meaningful, while not feeling too impossible.
