Game Title/URL: https://brayniverse.itch.io/growth

Pitch/Information: I needed a super simple game mechanic in order to be able to get close to actually finishing something. So given the theme, I thought why not build a mechanic where you need to grow larger and shrink back down to hit targets.

I’d like feedback on: Anything really. But I am considering using the mouse to grow/shrink instead of the up and down keys. This would work by holding down the mouse to grow and letting go to shrink. My concern here would be that the shrinking feels less in your control.

I need help on: If anyone has used Godot and knows how to fix the CORS error I seem to have with my exported game that would be grand.

Thank you

I love the character. It looks great.

It’s a really good idea. I can foresee myself revisiting this game as a regular brain challenge each day. However, I do have a couple suggestions for future development on the game.

  1. It doesn’t matter if the letters I choose actually make a word, so I can get a high score pretty easily (I know I’m only cheating myself). But it would be rewarding to hit a submit button and be told “yes, the word you’ve chosen is a valid word”.
  2. I’d love to have a high score board, whether that’s just my own scores or a globally ranked board.

Thank you

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Would it be okay to use in my game? Credit going to M. Baran Yaşar & Barkın Seydioğulları.

I’ve been playing this with my son. We both really like it. My son has decided the police car is his favourite but I’m torn between the fire truck or the monster truck.

I really enjoyed playing this entry. I did find a couple bugs, though. The first has already been mentioned, after my first play I kept the unlocked towers. The other being that once I selected a tower to place it wouldn’t let me select a different tower so I had to place the one I had chosen. I found that made it harder to react to the sudden appearance of an enemy.

I found it fun to play and I have a strong urge to master the game. However, there are a couple things that would help with strategic playing - in my opinion.

  1. The planet rotation is a little slow so I often don’t have time to rotate and wait for the gun tower to lock onto the enemies before they attack
  2. It would be convenient to have forewarning of which direction enemies are coming from, prior to them appearing on the screen.

With those two changes I reckon my avg. play time would be much longer, giving you time to introduce more challenging enemies.
