Hey, I noticed that the page has received quite a few follows and yokai shuffle has reached over 700 downloads. That's super cool! We are happy that people are genuinely enjoying our little alpha. Unfortunately, we have to inform you guys that the game has been on an indefinite hiatus since last year due to losing our artist. While searching for a replacement the passion just wasn't there for the team and we have split to pursue other efforts. As much as I would love to continue the development of Yokai Shuffle. I wouldn't want to push my team to finish a project they weren't passionate about so if something were to happen where I was able to find another artist willing to commit to a long project like Yokai Shuffle, I wouldn't mind picking it back up again.  But for now, Yokai shuffle is on hiatus. If this changes, I will make a post here talking about it but until then, thank you for supporting the development. 

Hello everyone! Jazz here from Brand New Carousel and this is just a little update on the future development of the game. I want to start off by saying there won't be any more updates to the Alpha as we start gearing up for an official demo release! At this point we want to focus on polishing the game even further so that once it is time to release the demo it will feel like a major upgrade from the alpha.

We plan to make the following changes:

Swap out character sprites to give a glimpse at the games final design.

Implement voice acting.

Implement the next few areas for the player to explore.

And MAYBE, add a few more cards.

We are on the fence about adding more cards to the demos and alpha because we want to keep some of them a surprise. We might've already shot ourselves in the foot by implementing over 200 in the alpha but we just wanted to make sure there was plenty to play around with while we work on the official demo.

The official demo will include the first few hours of gameplay. Leading all the way up until the first Sigil (Gym) battle.

We cannot wait to fully immerse you guys in the Region of Aria and we hope you continue to support us for the rest of the game's development.

Unfortunately we are unable to give a release date for the demo but we're hoping to have it released by the summer!

There may be some issues with optimization on slower devices, this is something we are currently looking at but it may be due to the card battle system.

We will look into it, but if you are running into these issues please know that we are doing all that we can to make sure the game is playable
to all. Something you can try is going into options and turning off animated cards.

Current Card Count: 201
There are now 201 cards in the alpha. We will not be adding anymore cards to the alpha as we will now start focusing on other areas in the games development.
The final game will probably have an estimate of 250 - 300 cards, but the alpha builds will only have these original 201.

The alpha patches from this one forth will only be aesthetic and optimization changes as assets come in to better represent the final game. Once all the assets we need are in, the
alpha will be rebranded as an official demo.

We finally fixed the booster pack bug! So the game is 100 percent playable without any game breaking bugs. Hurrah!

You can now purchase booster packs that have only specific elements.
You can now purchase card sleeves for your deck!

Added weather effects! This however conflicts with the animation of the booster packs opening. So booster packs animations are
disabled in the menu. You can reenable them if you wish but know that it will cause your game to crash if you open booster packs on a map
where the weather is active. We are looking into a fix for this but we are all very new to coding so I ask that you bear with us. If we are
unable to figure it out the booster pack animations will be removed entirely because we believe that a better overall aesthetic would help
the game in the long run.

This is a big patch! The game got a fresh new coat of paint, some new people to battle and a secret boss. We also properly centered some cards.

BALANCE
Volcanic Maiden's engage damage was lowered to 3 and victory damage raised to 5.
Rin, The Holy Maiden's power and level increased from 4/0 to 7/7.

Alpha V.05 Patch Notes

Hello! and welcome to Patch .05! Made a lot of small changes, and finally fixed the GAME BREAKING BUG! We added 11 more cards as well as made
some quality of life changes. We see your feedback about the game's performance and we are working on making sure the game is playable by low
end hardware. We made some changes that we hope'll bring some optimization. We will continue testing on our end as well as keep paying attention
to the feedback you guys give us. Over the course of the next few weeks we plan to continue to flesh out Harmony town and slowly but surely replace
the game's assets in order to portray something close to the finished product. We appreciate you guys giving our game a chance and we hope we can continue
to please over the course of 2020.

Reverted Iwari's overworld sprite to default rpg maker assets just for artistic consistency.
Removed circle animation in battle in an effort to optimize performance.

Alpha V.03 Patch Notes
So, a few gamebreaking bugs reered their ugly heads so here is yet another patch update within a 24 hours timeframe. Don't get used to these
quick fixes, unless more gamebreaking bugs appear.

There are currently 168 Cards in the alpha, so why not collect them all?

In this patch,

Elemental Gem: Mizu's card description wasn't portraying the right information. Elemental Gem: Mizu saps 1 health from your opponent and heals
you for that amount. Now it properly conveys this information to the player.

Leon, The Tribal Sword was displaying a shield breaking animation on the player even though its effect only procs on your opponent. This
was fixed.

Mecha Scorpion had the same issue as Elemental Gem: Mizu. It now has the right information in game.

Shiva's effect no longer costs health.

There is a game breaking bug in regards to the booster packs but I believe that I fixed it. If you run into issues or crashes please take
